You could tell that was totally about race if there were three white men in there or three white people, it would have been no question. As soon as a white man said, that was his store, they walk away! It was very clear what it was about.
So why didn’t the police officers approach the Caucasian man working in his store at that hour?

This is a common mistake among law enforcement and I don’t know if they see it. They keep doing the “papers please” asking everyone they encounter to identify themselves like we were in the 3rd reich. They say “papers please” we show our documents and the say with a snarling attitude “your papers are not in order”then our loyalty to the party is in question. I’m not sure who is teaching them this maybe it’s from the police academy or just the need to exercise their authority. The way to handle this situation if it wasn’t obvious they were working, would have been to knock and say” hello sir sorry to bother you just letting you know we’re just looking out for you and if you have any problems please don’t hesitate to call thank you and have a nice evening “
