So im struggling … when i went to romania with my baby in 2011, carseats are optional. I used a carseat bc i brought it from canada… but to take a baby away from a mother… a baby who looks healthy, healthy weight, not crying, clean, taken care of (hair done nicely, nails clipped etc) mother doesnt have a record etc… is extemely severe. Should it be reported? Absolutely… get cps & investigate the family … but to so something as traumatic & severe as TAKING a baby from his/her mother? Is unacceptable. No way. That's abuse of power im sorry. Get the family investigated immediately but taking away is severe af. No way.

BUT it is FULLY OK for NY'C;s Yellow Taxi to be exempt from carseat laws. I see it everyday, moms with 2 or more little ones getting into cabs without car seats. They should have simply allowed her to go home now that they were "safe". She should've been allowed to go home with her child… taking the infant away was FAR more dangerous for the baby as the baby was no longer in danger. SO DUMB
Car seat, didn’t have those growing up! They had another great option, why did they chose the worst one for everyone involved, why???

I grew up on a farm in Kansas in the 1940s and 50s. I never saw a baby car seat and neither did my younger siblings. My son was born in 1962 and never had a car seat either; I held him in my arms. Omg, we didn't have seatbelts in those days either. How on earth have we survived…

Wtf, taking a baby for no car seat? I totally understand the safety concerns but just issue them tickets and move on with it. The LAST thing you want is that baby to enter the system. The system is over whelmed and a terrible place for the child.
