STORY DETAILS:
Prosecutors have leveled a host of new charges against the former Jackson County deputy accused of planting drugs on unwary drivers during bogus traffic stops recorded by his own body camera.

Zachary Wester, whose career in law enforcement came crashing down in 2018 after the allegations came to light, was indicted last year on a total of 52 counts, including charges of racketeering, official misconduct, perjury, fabricating evidence, false imprisonment and possession of drugs. The charges stemmed from Wester’s arrests of 11 different people.

Last month, prosecutors filed an amended information charging Wester with two dozen additional counts involving five more of his alleged victims. The charges stemmed from traffic stops in 2017 and 2018 in which drivers or passengers were arrested on drug charges including possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

  1. I know this STORY, what I don't know is How Long was On the Force, ALSO THIS LOW LIFE STILL DENIED IT EVEN AFTER BEING CONVICTED, HIS SENTENCE WAS FAR TO LENIENT FOR THE LIVES HE DESTROYED!!!!

  2. Apparently, he was trying to get on the narcotics unit. So, let's review here…. Westerman, at the very least, caused countless people to distrust police even more than we already do and took the liberties and freedoms from his victims that they have as law-abiding citizens. Sad to say, there is no other side to this argument. His "at most" would depend on the person and what they lost. Freedom, jobs, money, family, spouse, trust from their community, the list is endless. I guarantee you her pulled people over, ran their names, saw their past, and used it against them and to his advantage. Is disgusting that we put THAT much trust, faith, and expectations on someone who barely has a high school degree and little to no accountability when they screw up. If a bank teller screws up, most times, you'll get your money. If a Uber driver screws up, you'll get a refund. If a doctor screws up, they have malpractice insurance you can sue. If police screw up, well, you lose your freedom, time, possibly your job, and respect from those around you. Police need to carry their own insurance like doctors do. As a taxpayer, I'm tired of paying for their misconduct.

  3. YouTube never recommends your videos to me. They always send me to TYT, FOX or AP on auto play. But I play one Donut Op video and I have a whole playlist of garbage from him. πŸ₯²

  4. I swear fat cops are the grimiest. They will do whatever it takes to minimize traveling and moving. Pulling weapons at a drop a dime. Planting evidence. Sending the K-9 to attack.

  5. Maybe only 5% are bad if you do your calculation this way:

Violates department policy = still a good cop

Allows illegal and unlawful things to be done = still a good cop

Allows fellow officers to violate department policies = still a good cop

Enables other officers to violate policy or the rights of citizens = still a good cop.

Mild violations of citizens' rights but would be unlikely to lose in court = still a good cop.

Disrespectful behavior towards citizens or other cops = still a good cop

A cop responsible for egregious, undeniable violations of the law or citizen's rights = one bad apple

*good cop here meaning any cop not considered to be a bad cop by those who would say only 5% are bad.

  6. If people served time from his frame ups, This bad cop needs to imprisoned for a minimum of the total time he caused others to lose their freedom (including being detained, court time and jail time).

  7. The bad cop was the sole cause of this. All of the rest of the parts do not matter had the drugs not been planted because they were unnecessary. Yes, they need to be repaired, reexamined and corrected but they are unnecessary when an honest cop is involved.

  8. The guy said 3-6% of cops shouldn't be cops and while I find myself telling people there is a lot of bad police but there are also a lot of good officers, I've seen both. Saying that, it is actually believed to be around 12%, double what he stated. The general population tends to have a narcissism and related personality rate of about 6%(higher in men) but because of the type of work officers do these type of people are attracted to it. They need strict and continuous psychological testing and maybe it could get down to 3-6%. This issue has been known about since at least the 80s.

  9. So in this jurisdiction position of narcotics is a nonarrest because they got drug out of his petrol car and didn't arrest for a year so anyone that gets arrested here for narcotics should file for false imprisonment unless they don't get charged for a year

  10. And if anybody who believes his buddies didn't know he wasn't do this are ignorant fools trust me an asshole like that definitely squeals and spills the beans making it a laughing matter

  11. Sadly…the Assistant District Attorney who took the time to actually WATCH his bodycam footage and blew the whistle, was forced out of her job, threatened and intimidated. If she had kept quiet, he'd STILL be fabricating evidence, destroying people's lives and getting away with it.

  12. Think a cop would get away with it once or twice. But surely, if a cop is getting a lot of them, over the other cops in the station, then you'd think they'd be a red flag from his supervisors.
