ALSO, no one believes she was resisting when she was already on the ground unconcious. We know that was for the camera, officer. She wasn't resisting. She was on the ground with her head concussed, black eye after being punched in the face, bleeding, and with audible agonal breathing (evidencing her body was fighting to get oxygen to her brain while she was unconscious). Elbow and shoulder were knocked out if their joints. All this for videoing…which is entirely lawful? I hope the officer has since been arrested and charged. He is likely to take it to the next/fstal level if left with a badge and gun. We've seen it time and again.
There was ZERO RESISTING. That this is a video from present day America LE, and not from 80 yrs ago in Germany, or present day N Korea, is disturbing and maddening.
That we the taxpayers are paying for these people to abuse and sometimes take the lives of citizens is evidence that reform must be imminent. Peacefully redressing govt, peaceful protest, writing city hall, showing up to meetings. That is the only way – other than de-funding… which may need to be contemplated when a city hires cops with histories of a use of force. All this for exercising rights under the 1st Amendment – the SUPREME LAW of our land.
Law enforcement is supposed to enforce when there is unlawful activity–not LAWFUL activity.
This is nothing beyond criminal and the officer needs to be charged with assault & battery, unlawful arrest (kidnapping), violation of 1st, 4th and 14th amendment rights, and the officer should be in jail, not the peacefil woman engaged in lawful activity!!!
