I hope he files suit against the cops for filing a false police report, or something along those lines.
hmm that one is tough. He is a resident at the home so it entitled to privacy, but the wife did call so the police were invited in. He himself allow the cops to enter the home, so did he give consent? Probably yes. When asked to id himself, he has a right to remove consent as he is not the one under investigation. The wife had not removed consent, so the proper thing would be to file the report under her name noting the other legal male occupant and leaving it at that. He is a witness to a potential crime so if charges are pressed he will have to identify himself as a witness for the official records.
I'm actually impressed that the officer left the house when asked. Usually ends very differently.
The results are that her husband was right to not trust the police. He was insulting and he was hostile.
The cop wasn't reasonable. He left the woman who called him.
I wish she would not have told the cop anything. The officer was hostile and retaliated against the man by tagging his name wrongly in their database as being hostile to police.
