Freedom of speech is not a right in Englan, we have freedom of expression, words that can be seen as racist, homophobic or sensitive can lead to arrest charges, hail community service or fines.
Halsburys Law says "ALL civil courts are unlawful" and this wrong police behaviour going on here is a civil matter and so the cops are breaking the law and obviously too stupid to know what theyre doing. People living breathing ONLY have the Law to adhere to. Names on paper are civil matters (Legal which only binds the crown) which the Law says the police arent allowed to touch – but here they are pretending anyway. Hope they both get sued for this unlawful bahaviour as appropriate.

In the UK. You have no right to free speech or expression under the common law.
You have to realize that the 1st amendment only exists in the United States of America.
