Compared to other interactions, I'd let this cop go. Seems like a simple mistake and we're all human, we make mistakes. I'd be more pissed had he booked the guy without checking.
Hey someone called and just thought that you looked weird so can you prove me your innocence? Give me your ID now. It’s crazy that they honestly think that once someone calls, even if they don’t report a crime. If they report someone they think is suspicious, that gives them the right to detain people.

You have to know that if I'm here I have a fierce distasted for the tyranny that exists in ALL law enforcement. That being said, it appears that this cop actually made a mistake. It didn't really seem like his ego was involved in the slightest. In fact, the tone of his voice is one of someone whose soul has been destroyed by a shitty job. Buddy was falsely arrested, and is owed something for that.. but that cop… he is paying every day. Take it easy on him.
It should be illegal to mite cameras. Muting the camera is a blatant cover up and zero transparency. Remove the muting from all cameras so cops can not mute. .using just saus they are corrupt and hiding real evidence

We have 99.99.9 % of policies officers arresting innocent people for no reason or have the wrong person we have 99.99.9 of policies officers who don't care about you and don't care if they made a mistake they will still arrest you no matter what.

While police/LEOs MAY BE necessary; there is NO check/balance into how they can NEGATIVELY impact a life/lives with not so much as an apology. This is from enforcement to judicial agents/officers to where they SEEM oblivious to the effect that an interaction with these people can have. This contributes to the lack of confidence/negative reaction/reception police/LEOs/judicial employees receive which isn't difficult to deduce IF they were paying attention objectively instead of being wrapped up in their feelings & egos. The immunity police/LEOs & judicial employees receive NEEDS to be done away with. Tax payers SHOULD NOT be paying for their mistakes; they NEED to pay for/possess personal liability insurance. Police/LEOs SHOULD BE REQUIRED to ID themselves AND explain what/why they are stopping a private citizen immediately/initially at 1st contact. For all the supposed body cameras they possess and use, they SHOULD BE accustomed to being recorded but the actions/reactions from them lends itself to how incredibly corrupt they are. The system, from this angle, is more like modern day mafia than any real assistance to the citizenry.
Mistakes happen. The problem is the rest of us face consequences for making mistakes, police don't. This honestly shouldn't be a huge deal, but the cop should not get immunity for it.

Cops should not be able to mute, turn off or delete camera footage. All footage should be unloaded to a independent body for overview of their actions with the public. Cops should never be allowed to keep the footage at anytime.
