No, they can NOT. The search warrant they won't get will be for a gun, and nothing else. There is no plain view doctrine for warrants. Furthermore: a bong must be USED to be considered drug paraphernalia. Otherwise it's totally legal to own a massive "tobacco" bong.

If every "call" they got was credible, nobody would ever be the victim of a "swatting," no bogus warrants would ever be issued, etc etc etc. Next to false claims about the presence of a smell, "We got a call." is the most bullshit excuse that cops try to pass off as a reason. The more they wear it out, the more aware people become and the more likely people are to call the bullshit out right on the spot. The Vatican had to learn that lesson the hard way. Hollywood had to learn that lesson the hard way. And now that same lesson is being taught all across the country to cops, DAs, judges, politicians, and so on. They are reaping what they have sown.
