Police body camera shows a Georgia mom being arrested at her home. Unbeknownst to Brittany Patterson, her 10-year-old son had gone off on his own to a store in town, about a mile away. Cops got involved when a passerby saw the boy and called them. Deputies picked up her son and drove him back to the house. Five hours later, cops returned with an arrest warrant. WTF! If 10 year olds cannot go to a store in your community, and you arrest the parent for endangerment of a child, then this is a symptom of a much bigger problem. How come it is not safe for a 10 yr old to go to a store all by themselves? The police officer should ask themselves that. Why is it not safe?

At 10 I would walk 5 miles from my mom’s house to my dads house. At 8 I would drive my dad home from the bar. Man times have changed.
