DETAILS: https://thecivilrightslawyer.com/2024/12/05/cops-told-injured-woman-to-walk-to-the-next-town-13-minutes-later-she-was-dead/
Two Sheriff’s deputies (Deputies Philpot and Cobb with the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office) responded to a woman lying on the shoulder of a highway. The woman tells the deputies she was fleeing domestic violence. After talking for nearly 18 minutes, the woman, who very clearly appears to be drunk, asks the deputies for a ride away from the pitch black highway. The deputies talk it over and decide they don’t want to. They tell her to just keep walking. The woman pleads with the deputies to taker her to a gas station. But they leave her and tell her to keep walking down the dark road.

She probably had a head injury which makes you seem drunk and men don't help you unless you look like barbie
It wouldve taken him only 3 minutes to take her to the gas station.
If she said I don’t want to talk to you they would’ve arrested her for obstruction and she would still be alive and have money from the lawsuit to start over in life.
Based on these actions and those of other officers in the past—except for a rare few—it seems that a police officer's job isn’t really about serving and protecting. Instead, it often feels like their job is to report, enforce, and lock people up to serve the system they work for, which is paid for by taxpayers and controlled by their bosses.
Brutal policing!!
You would think these cops wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.
Driving car's filled with gas and getting paid all by the hard labor of our tax dollars, those worthless slug's too lazy to do anything other than run her ID hoping for a warrant. It's enraging! Who do they think they are?
This Deputy questioning her must be a total idiot, he cant see she is in distress and has a broken shoulder and they are failing thier most basic duty, to show compassion.
This is called malfeasance, absolutely intentionally done wrong. The deputy even admits she in danger on the road and still does nothing except ask more stupid probabtive questions.
If they think they did nothing wrong. They have no place wearing a uniform badge and gun. They are not good men.
Serve and protect? Nah, not today.
The only thing "abhorrent" here is that a woman is dead because cops "aren't a taxi service." You failed as human beings… nvm as cops
I would bet my life that if she hadn't had her ID or at least given her info that would've made room for her in the car then
Cops motto is to 'protect and serve' but these cops did neither. As a matter of fact they dismiss this woman in an impolite manner. In most cases these cops would do their best to arrest her and take her to jail, especially since she appears to be drunk. These two cops are complicit in her death and should be prosecuted. Obviously they believe they are guilty because they deleted the case and any videos. Her lawyer is a total a–hole to not find the cops at fault or to at least bring charges against the two cops.
Are these leos liable? She gave up.
When the cops are your last hope
She Begged Those Officers To Take Her To Safety! The Officers "didn't feel like taking her" to safety! Lazy And Neglect! That's what they are!
This is why police should stop getting funding "protect and serve" means nothing if they don't do either.
I know i dont need to say this but,We expect police to help us when in need. Like this case. A ride for 2 miles. If they arrested her theyd find space for her bags. The cops are cunts
"Words we can't talk about" in a FREE SPEAKING REPUBLIC?!?
When as Americans will we realize that WE THE PEOPLE have the power if we would be willing to read and understand the Bill of Rights and the Constitution!
I really hope the people defending the officers NEVER have to endure their loved ones going through such a traumatic experience – both at home and when dealing with "peace officers"
I guess we don’t pay police to help us. We pay them to kill us and protect them selfs while paying there lawsuits.
Their lawyer is just as big a pos as the two cops are. This whole incident was shameful and the fact he’s defending them and calling the disciplinary measures abhorrent says a hell of a lot about him. No wonder he’s defending useless cops, I doubt anyone else would hire this guy
“Public Safety” paid for by our tax dollars. If they willfully refuse to do their job and their choice results in someone’s demise, they are 100% responsible.
IF the cops didn't want to deal with her why not flag down one of the MANY big rigs and ask if they can take her to the gas station 2 frickin miles away, or if he is so inclined to take her to the next town (it might put the trucker in trouble with the trucking company)
That’s bullshit! Omg… they work for us! How heartbreaking. I am so upset. PROTECT AND SERVE.
