Dallas Campbell walked into the police department in Hazard, Kentucky a free man, doing his best to keep a notoriously untrustworthy police agency (at least that’s what I learned watching the “Dukes of Hazard”) honest. Unfortunately, he left in handcuffs, the victim of a false arrest. But he had a small YouTube channel, and 12 days after he posted the video of his arrest, the Hazard Police Chief was fired.

The clerk is used to telling people off. All she needed to do was take his request, no matter what it was, and refer it to her supervisor. She went into this "corrective" mode pretty quickly. Neither had any reservations about mishandling his property.
All the chief cared about was being in control. My office, I said, Me, get out, etc.
All they needed to do was explain this was something they were unfamiliar with, take his request with name and phone number, ask the citys attorney what to do and call him back. Easy, peasy.
Instead, they immediately went into this bully mode and tried to run him off. Escalated something simple (maybe frivolous) into a court case. Just dumb.

And if one of those policies is no filming then it's no filming – you know that, right? Because of these bags of snot, you can no longer film anywhere in courthouses, you know that, right? Cannot film in a social security office – you know that, right? But we're all amused at how you make it seem like YOU had something to do with it. This jerk went there specifically to get a reaction so he could post the video to YouTube to try and monetize it – rather like you, actually. He's a little late to the frauditing party, but his visit there was solely for that purpose. He didn't want those records and they would have gone directly into the trash. He was praying for the reaction he got so he could file a lawsuit. Whether he wins some go away money or not, that's all this was about.
