Bodycam video was released earlier this week of the moments leading up to the d**th of 26-year-old Patrick Lyoya, who was k*lled after a Grand Rapids, Michigan, police officer sh*t him in the back of the head. The sh**ting occurred after the officer pulled Lyoya over because the license plates on the car he was in were not registered to that vehicle. After Lyoya started to walk away from the car, the cop grabbed him and a struggle ensued. Lyoya was face down on the ground, with the officer on his back, when the cop sh*t him.

So, the guy lied about his license then tried to flee. Then fought the police office for control of his taser. The officer tried to use non-lethal force. Then he used his gun. Not clear enough if it was a mistaken shot or intentional yet, but I wouldn't call this murder. For those asking for the police to stop murdering you, stop fighting the police. If the man didn't have a license, it was at worst a minor fine and less than a month in jail. If the police officer arrests him without cause, well then that is a good lawsuit, so you let them arrest you and sue later. Take some responsibility. You can't say police are killing us for no reason and then ignore the fact that the reason was that they were fighting the police. I've only seen a few instances where it was completely 100% unjust. Every other time the victim resisted, ran, fought or tried to kill the police officer.

It’s ridiculous. He should’ve just let him keep running away instead because his ego was hurt and that’s what it was ego. The cop had to stop him any way possible cause that was the only thing that was gonna soothe that cop’s ego. Basically that man was murdered over another man’s ego. So was this infraction worth this escalation? You have the passenger in the car. Call for backup. This officer watches too many cop shows. The ticket/arrest does NOT need to happen immediately. What if the guy had a gun and shot the officer in the head? What if the passenger got out and shot the officer in the head? You see how stupid this officer was? His ego took over and he couldn’t let this guy ignore commands. So the officer “had” to end the guy. 🤦♂️
The sad thing is the number of people defending this officer because the suspect grabbed the officer’s taser. The situation should never have gotten that far. The suspect was walking … away.
