I give the sergeant a lot of credit for honoring his oath. We need more police like that. There’s so many that would turn the camera off and just let him go home while a normal citizen would be arrested.
I respect the police officer for not treating the captain special treatment as he thought he would get.
How many lives has this captain ruined over DUIs?
You see back when this Captain was a cop on the beat he would of just told a drunk cop to drive home and not to worry about a thing as there was no body-cam's back then and they got away with literal Murder.
I'm def hyper critical of bad cops! But most would assume I'm this way towards all cops. Only because of just how many bad ones there is. But I do my best to remain as objective as possible. Following the truth wherever it takes me. So it's only right to highlight when police are excellent! And I feel that the arresting officer needs to get far more acknowledgement for being the absolute epitome of a true professional!! He didn't compromise his integrity not one ounce. And somehow, He even honored his word to the captain by immediately turning his camera off when his investigation concluded! They don't make them like this anymore. If every cop had this type of integrity this nation would be far better off! I could be wrong but based on his integrity and professionalism, I'm almost certain he served in the army or Marines before law enforcement

I'm an advocate for drunken bumper cars. People should be able to go to a place with specially designed cars for driving drunk around a course to see how much drinking messes up your ability to drive (and also for fun because driving drunk is undeniably fun, which sucks because it's very dangerous for more than just the drinker). Imagine how many people wouldn't drive drunk if they had a test that proved to them that they aren't an exception that can "drive more cautious while drunk" as is often excused.
I hope this upstanding officer did not lose his job over this drunk idiotic "captain".
This so called “captain” is expecting favoritism because of his position. The guy is so stupid drunk he is absolutely pathetic. This is disgusting and ridiculous. He should be FIRED and prosecuted for being drunk. END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY AND POLICE UNIONS. The officer was very professional and it was great to see him arrest that drunk.

I despise drunk drivers. My friend was in the back seat of a car, years ago, with his girlfriend, when a drunk driver ploughed into them. He was trapped inside for 20 minutes and had to listen to his girlfriend screaming until she died. She was 19, he was 20. It's almost 20 years later and he's suffered PTSD for the majority of him life since.
So if anybody ever feels sympathy for these drunks sob stories, or considers getting behind the wheel after ANY drinks, then remember this story and the last terrible 20 minutes of life that poor girl had to go through.

I live right outside of OKC. We've had our share of negative attention, so it's really good to see that there are cops with integrity and a spine strong enough to take on internal issues. Pretty damning that an investigations captain would ask an officer to tamper with evidence. He's been here since 1991 with a salary over $135k. Only a fool would jeopardize a career and pension that, certainly, would have been healthy. Last entry on "LEO Ratings" shows he's still on administrative leave. Yeah, maybe discreet retirement with no fanfare?
