I actually bothered to put some of the substantive case law at the blog post on this, if you're interested in that sort of thing: https://thecivilrightslawyer.com/2023/02/03/officers-caught-on-video-stealing-6000-qualified-immunity/
I have to imagine you take fair amout of abuse from cops being a civil rights attorney?
Stealing is stealing. Wasn't seizure but theft. I imagine they even failed to pay taxes on the stolen money.
THEFT, is ILLEGAL!!!!!! No matter who performs the act!
A 4th Amendment violation is kind of beside the point. The officers need to be criminally prosecuted for theft.
theft is theft!!!! how on earth can the courts uphold STEALING? bogus qualified immunity or not, stealing is stealing!!!! i am so through with this "justice" system. unless you are a 'somebody' you can get by with murder, not to mention STEALING!!!! qm MUST BE OUTLAWED….contact ALL political figures,, from local on up to as high as we can get, DAILY if we have to, until something changes!
When you post a video we want to see the crime and we want to see the aftermath not 5 weeks down the road not two years down the road it would be much more helpful to us if we could see start to finish in one video.
When is stealing not stealing? When the government does it.
Thanks again
That's BS. Too give crooked cops a license to steal is total bs
this is why I would want somebody like Doris Day as my parole officer.
How is this possible? Stealing is a crime. Is this called qualified criminality?
Disgusting. The concept that law enforcement committing unlawful acts but be immune to punishment AND have their employer and stand behind them in court is just plain wrong. It's past time for the supreme court to review qualified immunity – once and for all. As it stands, they are deputized criminals.
I hope they were arrested. This is insane
How did we ever get here? We need criminal justice reform now.
More reasons to never visit the USA. Freedom is not scary where I live
If the Supreme Court would allow someone to steal $250,000 from someone and say there was had immunity did I be damned if they should do anything about it if they take matters into their own hands because you know eventually those people will go after them one-by-one and get even and they would have every right to it's called karma
Scumbag cops.
Zero honor
Suspended with pay is just a vacation
It's taken at the end of a gun and must be reclaimed at the end of a gun. This is what the second article in the Bill of Rights guarantees to prevent.
Put in a notice that you recend your constructive consent claiming that the benefit you thought was a benefit is now causing harm.
THE ONLY POLITICIANS WHO SUPPORT ENDING QUALIFIED IMMUNITY ARE THE DEMOCRATS!!!
of course the crooked and corrupt repubs would support QI!!!
i will NEVER vote for a single politician if they DO NOT SUPPORT ENDING QUALIFIED IMMUNITY!!!
suspended with pay???
fvcking crooks!!!!
2:10 β¦ basically just admitted to running em like a gang like they did us here in Baltimore with the gun trace task force π€¦π»ββοΈ smfh ..
To charge under RICO, at least two predicate crimes within 10 years must have been committed through the enterprise. Note that an enterprise is required. This might be a crime family, a street gang or a drug cartel. But it may also be a corporation, a political party, or a managed care company. π€ππ½ one day someone will wake up and realize these criminals they r handing gun and badges to r worse then some of the men on our most wanted posters corrupt ass country and system
Oops. I am sitting in a hotel room watching this in Greece NY
How does qualified immunity come into play on theft chargers
When the People charged with keeping the Thieves Honest, are bigger Thieves than the Convicted Thieves, you just know the Country is doomed to the fate of failure….
On camera talking about stealing money and on paid leave are you kidding me. What else did officer steal or plant in other cases. Qualified immunity is a joke
I might sound stupid but, here goes. I get you canβt sue them, but do they have to give the money back?
Just normal p/g activities
Not a lawyer, but I wonder if the 4th amendment would qualify not because of illegal search (because he was on parole), but of illegal seizure.
If cops can steal stuff knowing they're not supposed to steal it and they get away with it scot-free because of qualified immunity, why even bother to have any laws against theft, larceny, burglary, robbery, mugging, or armed robbery at all? π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈπ€·
How the hell does QI apply when it's not regular police duties?
Theft. Blantant theft has no defense.
There is no "well maybe" argument possible.
What the fuck is amarica.
I've been to the USA once…changing flights from the Bahamas in Miami….I will NEVER visit the USA for a holiday….you just CAN'T feel safe from your so-called law enforcement π‘
Your country is buggered! π‘
You know what pisses me off the most if they're caught on camera stealing the money they get suspended with pay I've never had a job in my life that I got suspended for and still got paid that is unbelievable I've been fired or suspended without pay suspended with pay what kind of BS is that
This is just a peek at the depravity of so-called police. Not your friend, no morals, no ethics. Worse than those they put in jail.
Only good cop is the one who turns in the bad cops.
are we really having this conversation? a thief is a thief no matter the uniform.
being a blue line gang member is a license to steal and violate our rights
Police? Abusing their power? being above the law? Getting away with theft? I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you! … Well, not that shocked.
and also LOL! Suspended with pay. Good job stealing cops! Here's a paid vacation!
I don't understand. "Qualified immunity" is meant to apply when government agents are performing their duties. Blatant theft and violating the criminal code isn't "performing their duties".
Defund all these lien tyrant's !! Sue all them take all there pentions !! Put them all in prison !!!
