What would happen if a police officer initiates a pursuit with a fleeing vehicle, then that vehicle crashes, and the officer says, oh well, and drops the pursuit, leaving the scene? He just leaves; doesn’t stop to help; doesn’t call an ambulance; just turns the other direction and heads to Dunkin Donuts? Is that a civil rights violation? You might be surprised.

ALSO, they weren't really whistling. That was my creative input.
Cops did not know if someone other than driver might have been hit in the wreck. How ever I think it is more of dereliction of duty not investigating crash whether they were responsible for crash or not. Cop should be fired. Not a civil rights case.
Wow…that was all kinds of wrong.
The government of course will do everything to protect themselves. Our government is corrupt. The supreme Court is corrupt because they allow the Cops to shit and piss all over the constitution.
This is why I don’t understand how a citizen can come to the aid of a cop in crisis such as trapped in car or being overpowered by a suspect. Why help them? If they are on fire save your urine lol
Cops don’t care about you or me are government doesn’t care either they just want your money they definitely don’t care about your freedom they don’t want you to have any freedoms freedom just gets in the way of their extortion
Cops sound like storm troopers it would put you out of lots of work probably but I don’t want any traffic police at all don’t mind cops showing up to a altercation after a accident or a fight loss or harm stop the harassment freedom is scary deal with it now let’s live that way
The lights look like they are on
Yeah, chasing cars is terrible for everybody. Unless they are chasing a violent risk to everybody, don't chase. You just get innocent people killed (not that cops care at all).
Holy crap. What a shitty cop. That said, if I was being chased and crashed, please Mr officer drive away like nothing happened.
Taking a page out of DUI law placing Serve and protect on vehicles or department websites should give the officers implied consent to fulfill said promises
I call this attempted murder- the oath is to serve and protect and this cop should’ve known that this person could’ve died. Pathetic
I agree with your assessment. I think being fired for "incongruent values" by the police station is legally sufficient. But such a mentality creates a lot of scary scenarios. One one hand I am a believer that we can't legislate a just society, that starts with people's heart. I think if the cops had a physical interaction with the suspect (like tasing him, spike strips, ect) I would certainly consider it some kind of reasonable violation, of law? Maybe.
What kind of country allows public servants working for the public( allegedly, while being paid by the public thru taxes) not responsible for helping the same public with emergency aid, and that's their job to do so. The US is a lawless country nothing exists here but chaos, corruption and hate supported by the Supreme Court decisions not to honor its own Constitution.
Imagine the feeling in the cops stomach when they came back to the scene and reaise that a bunch of witnesses saw that the cops turned off the lights and left.. in this moment he's seeing his job flash before his eyes and thinking uh oh we done goofed.
The police may not have caused the crash, but they were a contributing factor that led TO the crash. In other words, if the police had not turned on their lights and siren and began chasing the person down the street, the crash most likely would not have occurred. By creating the vehicle chase, the police became the responsible for the safety of the public on the streets and sidewalks as well as the people in the car they were chasing.
I see this was 8 months ago so this comment might be coming late but you're a great man for wanting to provide or find a way to provide civil Right attorneys for everybody and supporting us and our right 👍🏻💯
After making statements like that the only thing I can say is be safe man.
Police needs to be soooo defunded
So it's "serve, then protect"? There's probably a good helping of trust violated somewhere, guessing
Interesting situation. I am reminded that while we like to think the police or any government official works for the citizen because of tax dollars, the truth is, the government is a competitor to the private sector, which includes us private citizens. And it is a rigged game because they make the rules. Always keep that in mind. The government is not your friend, it is your competitor. It wants to control you and take from you.
Interesting indeed, since the police initiated the chase I would say the police involved themselves in everything that was an out come of that chase and had a duty
Corrupt liars. Blue klux klan
WHERE THOSE OFFICERS FROM UVALDE
This reminds me totally different situation. I understand make no mistake. This was all about being lazy and not wanting to do the paperwork. No one likes doing paperwork but someone could’ve got killed.
It is not a legal issue, but it is a moral issue from a human point of view.
A "pit maneuver," or "bulldog maneuver" could have made things worse, much worse.
Just out of DECENCY, the officers could have called for an ambulance, and extra units to repond. However, as we know, government, law enforcement, and the judicial system are not about morality, or decency, but about winning, losing, and CingYA.
Present company (i.e. John Bryan, Esq) excepted.
This is straight out of GTA, what the hell ?
Why did the fleeing car use his directional?
ANY CIVIL CASE WON,25% SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE AWARD FOR A FUND FOR YOUR TYPE OF LAWYER. if not the people should volunteer some of the settlement to a fund. it will pay for itself quickly.
Not surprised that Dallas cops would do this. Not surprised at all.
Hate to say it, but play stupid games, win stupid prizes…but its already been established law enforcement have no legal obligation to protect you.
Cops ONLY care about exercising their power over others when it benefits them in some way. Cops are NOT interested in "serving" the public, if they were they would change the hiring criterium in order to hire more "personable" people that are much more "customer service oriented"…versus the already angry at the world because they were bullied as children or something like that people they do hire.
Could there not be a claim of eighth amendment violation for cruel and unusual punishment? Leaving the crash scene seems like punshiment the cops decided to extol on this suspect.
How the fucking.. what in the fucking what was he thinking??? Why? Why? On earth would he just leave instead of making the arrest?? Dude I seriously can't wrap my mind around that. Cause I'm pretty sure by now it's definitely an arrestable offense. I mean at least make sure innocents didn't get hurt. But then again if they did that they wouldn't be good police officers in now a days terms
was this MOFO WHISTLING?
Those are the Ben Simmons of cops. That was a lay up and they just passed it up.
