Hotel SWAT Team Raids Customer’s Room and Searches for Firearms

Ben was in Las Vegas for DEFCON, the world’s largest annual hacker convention. Ben’s day job is in the field of cybersecurity. He was staying at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Around 11pm on Sunday, August 14, he’s startled out of a sleep, in his dark hotel room. There’s pounding on the door. He walks to the peep hole in his underwear, peers through and sees what appears to be armed law enforcement in tactical gear.

He’s ordered out of the room, in his underwear. They then search his room for firearms. They’re not law enforcement, but rather the hotel’s “Special Response Team.” They refuse to explain the basis for their belief that Ben has firearms in his room.

  1. I forgot to mention it since this video centers on the issue of private vs. official action, but yes, assuming official action could be established, or in the event this involved REAL law enforcement officers, 4th Amendment protections absolutely apply to tenants of hotel rooms. Thus a warrant would be required, absent voluntary consent or exigent circumstances.

  2. way back in 2000 Casinos were developing 'analytics' and relationship software to score customers and guest against workers and known card counters to spot players in bed with table employees. Its not a stretch to see that now they have 2A blacklists and every guest is screened against it.

I know this, because I worked with this software and yes, 'others' use it today.

  3. What is going on in this country people with badges obviously tried to run this country they will find out that they don't run this country and they are going to suffer the consequences for pushing their weight which they have none.

  4. It ought to be illegal to enter a paying clients room without a official warrent and a police officer present and proof of all bodycams running.
I'm no fan of guns or the producers of guns but that does not change the fact that this is a clear violation of privacy.

  5. 🧠 ~ Hey smarty-pants lawyer, do you ever think the hotel just compiled information on their own since there are libraries worth of information publicly available for corporations that are willing to pay? But instead you fear-monger that the big bad horrible FBI is out to get you. Again, as I mentioned recently, this is why I cannot trust this channel. You provide good information sometimes, and then absolute crap other times. I could also guess that maybe you like the devil children because you just have that kind of look in your face, but could they’re not be more logical explanations to also mention?

  6. I guess the security guards are also not as protected as cops would be by prosecutors, so you put in EarPods and wait until they illegally enter your hotel, then you blow their face off. Oops, I didn’t realize who you were because the music was so loud in my AirPods.

I don’t mind people enforcing policies and other similar things, but their hostility and aggressiveness is my problem.

  7. They are Dick heads.
This will be one hotel that I will not book an event at for any reason.
They had someone either go into his room or they have cameras in his room.

  8. That head security MAGGOT kept saying that when he asked the customer earlier if he had a firearm the customer said yes. This being so why didnt the head security MAGGOT address the problem them and there. This alone makes me believe that they had another agenda and yes they did go into his room earlier

  9. Yeah, I'd be fucking livid as well. I think he had it right to 'eat a collective dick' and to 'collective to go fuck themselves'

Then again, I never would have opened that door for a search w/o the actual police present. Tell me to pack my shit and leave if you must, but fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that.

  10. I wouldn't have opened that safe at all, ESPECIALLY if they were real LEO's, because that would be a good way to get yourself shot DEAD. Nor would real cops allow him to open it if they suspected that there were a firearm in there, out of concern for their own safety. That Drew Carry security detail is a frickin' JOKE !
