He talked too much. Surrendered his rights too quickly and then surrendered them again when he agreed to the settlement terms. I’m glad his suit changed policy but it won’t stop this from happening again because the cops will just say they think they can see a gun or they detect an odor.

I was driving through a super small tx town while returning my office supplies for a job that I quit
The cops stopped me at an insane speed decrease (speed limit rapidly decreased from 65, 45, 25… like literally from one turn to another, idk how to explain it, it was insane. I was even making sure to do my best to adhere to it.. no cars on the road, only green lights, and i kept glancing at google maps on my phone after every light, seeing that i needed to slow down hard each time)
they pulled the "you seem to be shaking" (it was winter)
anyways, fast forward through me convincing them it's all good, giving them permission to search my car
i was chatting with one of the cops while the other was searching, making small talk, befriending him, talking to him about nutrition and health
he informed me they had a meth problem in that small town
and that they use the "you seem to be shaking" on EVERYONE, because it's an easy way to get meth heads to whatever.
as a side note, after watching all these fucking videos of corrupt cops… i will NEVER give them permission to search my car again, at the risk of something being planted. I also plan to invest in dashcam and stuff, using your affiliate links (it's the least I can do)… this is such a suffocating police state…
actually, after i get cameras recording the inside of my car, then i'll let them search it, and pray they try to plant something. Trap car, hidden cameras, not informing the cops about the cameras.

End qualified immunity! Make each officer personally liable! Take settlements out of the corrupt police union's pension fund instead of from innocent taxpayers. Maybe when cops are liable for their own misconduct instead of innocent taxpayers, they'll stop protecting the "bad apples."

When a cop lies to pull over, the victim can sue, but there should be zero stimulation put on the victim that or anyone else from criticism of the PD. That in and of itself' is a violation of their 1st amendment right and that should be another lawsuit!
Just another routine day for the police shacking down a black driver. Any black citizens should be concerned with police encounters because the police have a long history of shooting unarmed black citizens in America. Cops are allowed to remove citizens from vehicles for something as simple as officer safety. Seems like you’re closing comments suggest that having occupants step out of the vehicle is an unconstitutional practice for police.

Only remove a person if they beleive someone is armed???? KY ins now a Constitutional Carry state. and we were always Open carry Friendly…… However I have carried open in Louisville and did get harrassed from time to time in the past…… Our rights for carry and possession of firearms have been protected by our Commonwealth Constitution.
