54 Cal. Flintlock Recoil vs. 12 Gauge 00 Buck from this weekend, with some slow motion replays at the end. Sort of brutal, but awesome. Marksmanship was a big part of life as an American in the 18th century. I can see why Rev War commanders had a hard time conserving lead and powder. Boys will be boys…… Flintlocks are a lot of fun. Modern 12 G. and 00 Buck… not so much. I almost like shooting flintlocks as much as machine guns. This is probably a tipping though, in my opinion for fun vs. brutal recoil, as far as muzzleloaders go. My .50 cal. flintlock is super soft shooting compared to this. But if you only get shot, sometimes bigger is better, am I right?

Try arching out your internal leg muscles for less recoil. Great Video.
I love guns and studying ballistics but I had no knowledge of a 54 cal, like grain, velocity, muzzle energy, etc. This was awesome to watch, found you from San Juaquin Valley Transparency
Shot gun should be push pulled ..
Cool Video . I Like The Slow-Motion . Gun Technology Sure Has Come A Long Way .
Have shot the .50cal Hawkins many times but not the .54cal flintlock.
Hey John, are you a member of the West Virginia Citizen Defense League?? If not, you should seriously consider signing up.
Beautiful gun.
So cool. I would love to fire one of those.
It’s awesome. I still can’t imagine fighting war with those.
