  1. Oh exercising ones rights raises suspesion? He initiated his "emergency" lights when there was no crime? That's actually a felony if we're concerned about crime. It's also an illegal detention violating the driver's rights.

  2. Cops better get used to the silence, it is the only way civiians have to protect themselves from cops who fish for some harmess statement they can then turn into an admission of criminal behavior. We all know this guy was stopped for Driving While Black, who do those cops think they are deceiving. As for "all he had to do was say this or that" but what about if the answer does not please the cops, what then?

  3. It sure does and the fact that we never hear anything about what happens to these tyrants or if anything is happening. The fact that they keep getting away with all these little things till one day someone is killed cause of these tyrant.

  4. Translation: You weren't pulled over for any crime. Your right to refuse to answer questions raises our suspicions. We will not release the 'publicly available' bodycam footage your taxes paid for.

The attitude of this police force is completely opposite of their charter and mandate.

  5. Yes two sides to every story but our cameras don't lie. You can drive around all hrs of the night without being harassed. This is bullshit. One you are not getting my ID until you tell me why you pulled me over. That was his first mistake. This is a lawsuit

  6. In a "free" country, outside of a gated community and other "secure" areas, there's no such thing as even being in the wrong neighborhood. For a cop to say that they have to check whether people belong there because it is 1:am and the area had issues in the past, they could argue that everywhere. It's a disgusting abuse of perceived power. I hope he gets "corrected".

  7. Simply asserting a Constitutional right IS NOT grounds for raised suspicions of criminal activity sufficient to justify a search or lengthy stop and detainment. Imagine if this position was the state of the law, granting police extra authority if a person merely asserts his right to free speech, or the right to ask for an attorney, or the right to have your own religious view, etc… It is time for many of the police to go back and learn the law BEFORE they go out to enforce it.

  8. First of all, don’t “go to the Chief for a talk” when civil rights were violated. You interview attorneys until you find one you want to retain. Then, you sick the attorney on them! Get a Pre-paid Legal membership and get access to Justice.

  9. Stop being mad and hire a lawyer. The officer that stopped him said on camera, "You were not pulled over for any crime"! Ground ball easy win! Sue the officer and the department.
