Legally speaking, if they are on private property (like the lot of an auto dealer) and had permission from the owner, would they still have the legal authority to site you? I believe if they are doing this from their home and set up in the driveway they are fine.

That officer was just playing the auditors game and did so very well. This officer was a million times better than 90% of others. The auditor was like an annoying hornet just pissing him off constantly while he was trying to work and he responded well in my opinion
