I would reverse the order of the District Court and direct that summary judgment be entered in favor of the defendants. First, the best reading of the warrant is that it authorized the search of any persons found on the premises. Second, even if the warrant did not contain such authorization, a reasonable police officer could certainly have read the warrant as doing so, and therefore the appellants are entitled to qualified immunity.

The Supreme Court absolutely needs to be democratized. Anyone that can just be placed indefinitely without being elected and not have term limits placed on their position is an authoritarian. Supreme Court Judges need to be elected, and they need to be removed or replaced on a regular basis. There also needs to be a legitimate, feasible way to remove a sitting judge on the Supreme Court. Since presidents can be elected, impeached, and subject to term limits, as they should be, so should the Supreme Court. When they begin to answer to the people, things will change. Until then, this same situation where we are subservient to the wealthy ruling class will continue. If we are to be the supposed best nation in the world, the land of the free, we cannot have the largest prison population per capita out of the entire world. How did that happen? When the people are silenced and disempowered, authoritarians assume power. While I don't agree that all police are tyrants like frauditors do, some of the laws that they are required to enforce while protecting the public are excessive and favor the wealthy ruling class. This comment is already too long, so I won't go into that too much here, but I believe that there are good cops and that law enforcement is an essential component to a free society. Who determines what those laws are and how they are enforced is what's most important, and I obviously believe that the people, through democratic means, should be the ones making those decisions. How that is accomplished is a question as old as civilization, but democracy absolutely must be maintained. Democracy and freedom go hand in hand, you can't have one without the other. Therefore, the people who are given the authority to dictate the laws regarding our freedom need to be democratically elected by free people without the threat of violence, physical harm, or government retaliation. Free and confidential elections are essential. Our country is great, we just need some repairs and maintenance done after all these years. It's been 245 years since we declared independence, and the world has drastically changed. Our laws need to be able to adapt and change with the times. We need to upgrade to America 2.0, a better, stronger, and united people with liberty and justice for all.
The 1973 decision of Roe v. Wage was the decision that divided the country. The Court invented a new right. The SCOTUS is to interpret the US Constitution and not make law. This is where the division comes from.
It’s the conservatives on Supreme Court that gives police more power. They keep qualified immunity and now they’re the majority on that court. Look for police to have more power. The last justice that was confirmed was actually a public defense attorney. We need the Supreme Court to be split with half liberal leaning and half conservative to make it fair. The way it’s going now is gonna turn people against them. The majority or conservatives didn’t won’t Row overturned, they just used that issue to split us and get votes. I’m personally liberal leaning but I wouldn’t want the Supreme Court to be majority liberal because it wouldn’t work.
