Dude ive got court on the 18th next week and my lawyer sux. I opened a business in this town 2.5-3 yrs ago and the day b4 Thanksgiving I was pulled over suspiciously for a stop sign, made to get out my van (on the way to a job) after refusing a search for a stop sign violation, arrested for possession (not mine) and over the past 2 years I've worked and been recommended by the police department to assist homeowners and the approved by thr county Locksmith for the national music festival (no drugs there). So my first drug related offense im looking at a yr if I plea. ( My wife passed drig related and my brother OD'd at her funeral party, I had all there belongings in my car when i came to town the day b4 to start moving boxes into my new shop and out of that hell town, its why i moved.
Wish i knew about all this first because i was just cool with them talking and well sjit im use to cops im like a roadside driver so… Man i git hurassed fir 4 months and now 2+yrs later i plea or i hope the town sees me. Crazy how some cops and some counties can be. Im out thanks for the vent. If you have any advice or know how i can hire a new attorney a city guy or a trial lawyer and bye myself a bit more time to at least close down my business b4 i get evicted in jail and loose everything ive strived to ahow this town and my family I am, despite my past w my bro and wifes mistakes. Somehow i thought id ahow them what im about and they would revist our conversation. Sux man..

To give you an idea of a city that defunded police by voting citizens. Austin, we cut only 10 percent of the budget.
This part I am not joking . I went 16 months never registering, and I did keep insurance. Not once in the last 16 months have I even seen a police in Austin. I guess the other 90 percent still being paid just aren't working.
So far, experiment going fine with citizens' self-regulating behavior. There is only a slight uptick in crime.
Criminals here aren't too smart. Only twice I have had to sort of hurt a few. But since they were trying to rob me, discipline was administered right away. I may not look like a 7th degree black belt, an expert with long and short guns.
But after helping with national security for twenty years facing not nice people in various countries, doing what I needed to for survival, I get back to the US. It is fair to say my tolerance for criminals is I don't put up with them. Authority such as police is they don't get respect from me. But I have no idea where they are hiding in 😢Austin.
