Federal law no pot of you own a gun
Disgusting.
Must be nice…that "professional courtedy" is such a great tool. 😮
This is why ppl have no respect for cops. They have no dignity and always fail when discretion is actually needed
Muting or turning off the cameras should result in "Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200."
How about getting pulled over for no crimes yet getting arrested for marijuana when there was no marijuana present 🙄🤦♀️
Smelled weed like when are they gonna give that up already I mean Dame they said it was illegal because they couldn't tax it decades ago,.now they tax it same as alcohol 🤔 and they'll still lock you up for both but one, definitely causes more destruction than the other. Just because it's legal dosent mean it's OK to do so if the government can abuse you for using it.😢
Sometimes cops give drivers a break. Not just because they were cops. Happened to me many moons ago. Busted glass bong, my eighth of weed disappeared with the cop!
Good ole days for dem good ole boys.
Having a gun and being in possession is a federal felony!
Oh Yes….Good old Accountability…..So Nice We have a fair & unbiased justice system, Absolutely NO Nepotism Here folks😒😠
Anyone else would have been in handcuffs and put into the back of a police car. A dog would have been brought in and a search of the car would have been done and resulted in the vehicle being impounded!!!! This is a prime example of why there is NO SUCH THING AS A "GOOD" COP!!!!
no worries. an honest DA will fix this. and so will a judge. /just kidding
investigation ??? no- BROWN NOSING BOOTLICKING SESSION ?? YES !!!
You can have a medical marijuana card and possessive a pistol?
10:01 he says he worked 17 hour shifts, 10 as patrol officer, 7 as uniformed lieutenant then at 15:39 he says he never worked 12 hours shifts, alway 5 day 8 hours. So did he work 17 or 8?
Statement from St Augustine Beach PD:
On December 15, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m. officers from the St Augustine Beach Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a minor traffic infraction near the intersection of Pope Rd and A1A Beach Blvd. The driver of the vehicle was identified as David B. Shoar. Officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers saw what they believed to be marijuana visible inside the vehicle. A roadside investigation and interview were conducted by officers. No driver impairment was detected during the interview/investigation. After a search of the vehicle, three marijuana cigarettes were seized for destruction. SABPD officers conducted a thorough investigation adhering to agency policy and standard operating procedures. The driver of the vehicle David Shoar was subsequently released.
Why didn't the cops mention David Shoar was a former sheriff and the 2 handguns found in his vehicle??? And isn't it a felony to be using pot in a vehicle while in possession of firearms??? And isn't Shoars failure to obey traffic laws a sign of impairment???
Comments???
No one should ever be arrested for having weed.
That old is still shining bright blue, sickening!
What I'd like to know is how can it be legal for the NYPD police union to openly distribute 'courtesy cards' to officers that they can hand out to friends and relatives, or sell for profit as 'get out of jail' cards that people can flash to get out of being ticketed for trafic offenses? Members of the public don't get those cards, and if any cop fines someone who has a card then they get targetted by their fellow cops. It's outrageous that cops and their friends and family are protected species against traffic offenses in NY.
Guns and drugs. Anyone else would be sitting in jail for federal gun charges.
This is more like old friends catching up on old times. That was not an investigation. It was more like a coverup. They are all corrupt police officers.
The body cam should not be able to be muted. I don't mind if the FOIA officer redacts their conversations, but the police should at least be able to review those conversations. If I had my way, all the cameras would be live streamed at all times, but I do understand there is some need to protect private information. But that can be done at the FOIA production stage, not by the cop in the field.
Also, I've never understood how someone can dedicate their lives to enforcing laws, but then decides it is "professional courtesy" to cover up a fellow law enforcer's law breaking. Surely they should be even more harsh on someone that knows and has sworn to uphold the law, but is actually breaking those laws they swore to uphold.
Not that big a deal, he wasn't impaired anyway which is easy to tell by listening to him. I just want them to act like this with ordinary citizens.
Cops should not be allowed to hit a mute, or decide when to, and when not to record at all.
How can anyone claim that we have a government of the people and for the people if that government can work in secrecy?
Not only secret federal agencies conducting war and espionage but your local jerk water cops
Freedom? Where?
That dude is so so so Blazed, Ahahahaaa. He is just chilling going with the flow.
Good ole by network. The struggle is real🇺🇸
Blue line gang privilege
Note to self: AT&T goes down, they’re done.
I got chastised several times because I didn’t give “officer curtesy” to the families of other officers. “Officer curtesy” was and is bullshit. True “officer curtesy” is me “not” putting you in a position where you should cite or arrest me.
I bet the old guy jailed thousands of people for the same thing he was doing back during those old days!
Im sure they treat all suspects with that much respect.
Never have had the occasion to be pulled over and treated with such civility. I have always experienced hostile anxious and extremely rude officers.
At first I was thinking he doesn’t look drunk, but i forgot it was weed. It’s a whole different set of reactions.
To be fair, he may have been giving the address of his new house and they muted it to respect his privacy.
I doubt that’s the case and there isn’t a similar explanation for the other times they muted.
I think this whole thing is disgusting. Anyone else would have been arrest, period. We just need to keep an open mind and recognize that not every action they take is necessarily Self Serving. Sometimes there are reasonable explanations for their actions.
So the gobsmaked young heros just told the pot head guru they don’t have time for a girl friend but in the same breath said they enjoy 2 or 3 shifts in a week…..make no sense….let me guess what he really wants to say….I haven’t found some bimbo that likes rough play or being smacked around….or I’m ghay sheriff and my boyfriend and I love rough play….
Cop muting camera: Could a lawyer argue that by muting the body cam, the officer is guilty of spoliation of evidence?
Sounds like he's slurring his words and was rather forgetful…
But I digress
Sounds like he's slurring his words and was rather forgetful…
But I digress
I have zero issue with the result of this stop. They were respectful of the citizen, didn’t escalate, and didn’t make a big deal of a bullshit offense. I love everything about this interaction. This should be shown in police academy as an example of how to treat citizens.
The issue I have is that this was special treatment for a retired cop. I haven’t seen this officer interact with anyone else and won’t make assumptions as to how this interaction would have gone if the suspect were a person of a color other than blue, but I hope it would have been the same.
How did this video even come to public attention? You'd think this shit would be covered up hard.
How did letting this guy off with a free pass make their community safer? What happens the next time the ex-Sherrif is driving around town, smoking weed in his car, and he runs his SUV head on into another vehicle and wipes out an entire family? Will these cops extend him "professional courtesy" again?
