  2. This man put his life on the line for his country and for of us to enjoy the freedoms that we hold so dear. I can't imagine what this man went through and am sorry that this happened to him. Change needs and has to happen. Thank you for your service!

  3. scottish guy here, so please excuse my ignorance or lack of knowledge of US law and policies.

First off, if officers of the law are not actually on their police duties, paid for by the taxpayers but actually on their own time, why are they allowed to wear their work/police uniforms and not wearing a uniform provided by the establishment that has hired them for security?

Secondly, why did the staff not allow the citizen to show his legal documentation, hence his reason for being in the establishment?

Also, as officers of the law, why did they not explain to the staff, BY LAW, the citizen had the right to ask for assistance to be able to use the restrooms, after all, they are supposedly meant to be law enforcement or were they just breaking the law by Impersonating officers of the law?

My understanding, police officers usually can't wait to get their hands on your ID, often aiming a firearm at you, demanding it, yet somehow during this situation, they declined to even give a few seconds of their time to check the citizens ID and documentation, which would of been them doing their jobs?

    Last point.
Why, after a call, a 911 call from a citizen in need of assistance, did rhe officers whom turned up, proceed to mock the citizen due to confirmation from fellow officers that he soiled himself?

During all this, a police investigation saw NO wrong doing by all involved even after the law is on the side of the citzen🙈.

I often hear many officers saying this is not all officers, just a few bad apples. That is utter bs!

It is not the act of a few bad apples, it is the SYSTEM in place that is the problem.

Every citzen is responsible for their actions, nobody is above the law etc… Until it comes to police officers then all of a sudden, the law does not apply, leaving the costs of wrongdoing to the taxpayers whom have entrusted officers to protect and serve, carrying out their duties to the letter of the law.

Any feedback and explanation of the legal systems regarding off duty officers wearing official duty attire etc would be greatly appreciated for what i believe would aid me in the future.
    Thanks👍

  4. The Police Officers and the Internal Affairs team need to face consequences since they did not have sufficient humanity to handle this situation. The management of the store need to be informed of their duty since they cannot rely on the police to have sufficient knowledge of their job.

  5. So did I understand that a Pizzashop Hire some random punks of the street to do their security. And they are then by Default allowed to use the local departments official uniform as if they were Police ? wow there are a bunch of people that should be imprisoned for that. Not That Police requires any education of any kind in the US. a class on the same level as a hunting license in Europe..

  6. As a disabled human, I hate asking for anything so best believe that when I do l need it. Also a pizza place is giving someone a hard time for trying to use the bathroom during regular open hours. I get it is probably slow and they would like to close early but if someone is politely saying that they just need to use the bathroom and it's urgent unless you are about to close and the lights/ locks are on timers you take pity on your fellow person and let them ust the bathroom.

  7. My dad and best friend's son in law are veterans. An my friend's son in law was in a ied blast and himself now disabled an all people in there shoes deserve more respect amd it's ridiculous and sickening that those officers are still on the street

  8. To Retired Sargeant Lane; thank you for your service! As you served our country overseas, risking, almost losing your life as so many did so we, back in the United States could sleep sounder knowing you, Sargent Lane along with so many more were protecting us. I'm disappointed to say the least that police around our country are having more "indifference" to the citizens they are supposed to protect and, serve. We, the people are seeing more tyrannical, arbitrary actions against we the citizens being those they took an oath of service and, to protect us. Sargent Lane, thank you for speaking out and making this known. I, while in my own home experiencing panic attacks, anexity from two surgeries within the span of two weeks & needing another, I was met with indifference, tyrannical, arbitrary actions on assumptions that resulted in me becoming permanently disabled. I'm not as severe as you but, i understand the depths of dispare, embarrassment while trying to find purpose in life now. I hear your commendable words along with the impact it will forever hold in your mind of the despicable actions they did to you an who knows how many others? Please keep going, we need more citizens like you that rise up and, bring awareness to put a stop to such actions while making them responsible while having accountability for their actions. Sargent Lane, I pray you keep going for tomorrow needs respectable people like you ❤😊

  9. Thank you Mr. Lane for your service. Thank you also for for having the courage to go on despite your injuries and disabilities, which is an inspiration to me. As far as how you were treated by the Dallas police, it is understandable if that was a more disgusting experience than the horrors of war and the hell of surviving afterwards. Peace be with you!

  10. I am a veteran. Fortunately, I was one of the lucky ones that was never shot or wounded in any way. I know many that weren't so lucky. There are many that were wounded physically, mentally, both or did not survive. I can possibly see an officer not knowing every single law that exists since new ones are created every day including many that are useless and some that are downright stupid. However, he tried to show them his disability card and they refused to even look at it. If that was not bad enough, they then laughed at him. It was bad enough that the workers laughed. At least they had the excuse that they were immature teenagers and weren't raised right. A pretty pathetic defense even then. However, the four cops have no defense. They are supposed to be professional, courteous and serve the public trust. I saw none of this. I would not go so far as firing them if this was their first offense, but I would suspend them without pay for a month to reflect on their behavior a make them give a face to face apology to the vet I might also make them pull some volunteer work at the nearest va facility so they can be surrounded by the kind of people they laugh at. As for the two IA officers, their ignorance of policies, the law as well as their uncaring behavior towards the disrespect of the veteran or any human for that matter, tells me they are in the wrong position and should be fired. Police officers are supposed to be professionals, morally upright and compassionate. I saw none of that from the four officers and the IA people are supposed to be even better than the people they are investigating. I definitely did not see that. As for the vet, the two best punishments that leave a lasting impression on the pizza place and the police department are to hit them where it hurts the most. He has already hit them with public humiliation with this video. Now he needs to sue the pizza place, the officers involved, the department and the city. The humiliation can be forgotten over time and not everyone will see the video but hitting their bank accounts hard is more likely to cause change than any other punishment. My best wishes to him and others with disabilities and just the vets even though they definitely earned my respect.

  11. I lived in Dallas for years. One of the reasons for moving from Dallas to Ft Worth is because the Dallas PD hires imbecilic morons. The final straw for me was getting arrested for public intox when I had absolutely nothing to drink for at least a week… and I don't do drugs. Ft. Worth is an awesome city!!
