When my mother was in her Early 20's she was T-boned by an off duty police officer on labor day after he had drank all day and then ran a stop sign The accident completely totaled her car and broke many parts of her back and legs When the police were called they all covered him saying he was on his way to a call even though his lights were off, he was off the clock, and in a beach shirt shorts and sandals Because they all took his side my mother was left to pay all the medical bills, having to buy a new car, and on top of that she lost her job because she was unable to work As well the injury's she had still affect her to this day while he got off Scott free I have no respect for idiots who think the law has no effect on them
