These corrupt cops will never accept responsibility for their unlawful behavior. The have to be forced through lawsuits and hopefully the denial of qualified immunity.
It's not so much ego as it is they are just not intellectually sophisticated enough to comprehend the law. They are not cut out for nuanced consideration — so they fall back on ego. In a sane world they would be perfectly good carpenters, plumbers, factory workers, etc., but we give these guys about 28 weeks training (most of which is driving, shooting, how to wear the uniform, and how to fill out reports) and hope for the best. It's a tough problem — the people who would be good at understanding the law would be terrible at chasing people and rolling around with them in parking lots. Honestly, cop school should be at a minimum two years — but who would pay for it????

As security of a business, this is why i even hesitate to call the cops. I'm not allowed to touch people so after several verbal statements to leave the property I have to call the cops for trespassing.
The last time I called them for trespassing, the officer showed up and yelled at me asking what I wanted him to do. According to him, its not his job to handle trespassers and asked if I was too scared. Like what?
At what point in the constitution, or any amendment/law does it state that we are required to be polite to cops?
