  1. Not only fired, but the cop should be black listed, hell, some jail time would nice for, or the family needs a lawsuit againt him, not the department or city, but himself, they can collect from him, not the tax payer

  2. This right here is the problem with policing in the United States. I've never, not even ONCE, seen a police report that was 100% factual. They lie, they manipulate, they gaslight, and twist it all around, EVERY TIME, to make it appear in the police officer's favor. Then, the courts always take those reports as if they are gospel. We need reformation in the most major way in this country. We, The People are sick of this pure BS.

  3. We can blame the tik-tok lawyers for putting false information in this girls head. She most likely thought she could refuse to show ID unless he told her what crime she was suspected of. She is lawfully required to show it upon request—not refuse until the cop tells her the suspected crime. Do your homework, folks. The cop is a tyrant and I am glad he got fired. What he did was wrong and an abuse of power. BUT, the girl is likely NOT completely blameless for this. Sounds like her father is the culprit of giving her bad info.

  4. So, Mr. Shimmel was fired from that particular police department, right?
That leaves one question: Is he still CERTIFIED to work in law enforcement? Because if he is, he will work in another department, and 1. seriously injure someone, or 2. end someone's life… and 3. probably be promoted for his crime.
We know too well how this system works. This corruption MUST end, from police – all the way up to judges, and beyond.

  5. How can anyone dis this girl and support this officer? This is the most lopsided story of bad policing there could be unless he actually killed her. One can support their police force without standing up for this very derelict cop.
