A cop sees a camera yet still will act like an idiot and a tyrant. They must get positive reinforcement from their associates. As they are highly ridiculed in public. Because they keep perpetuating this embarrassing behavior.
This cop still thinks he has the ability to assess whether or not somebody is rude or not. Putting somebody in jail for 12 hours that did not commit a crime is rude.

In NZ you are only jaywalking if you cross a road within 20 metres of a crossing and don't use it.
Your laws are just ridiculous and your police use the most petty rules to bully and demands citizens. But then, they have no qualified immunity except for in CIVIL prosecution. If a cop commits a criminal act, he has no protection from prosecution.
A simple change to your laws and it would make all the difference.

Jaywalking and interfering would be good reason
In the UK we abandoned jaywalking last century in favour of the Green Cross Code. Our streets are vastly safer than USA because cars don't have priority. It's the drivers responsibility to drive safely. It seems that in the USA, drivers think they own the road and padestrians aren't welcome there. Jaywalking laws are simply there now as a revenue stream.
I love that Lowery is finally getting outed for the tyrant he is.
