Today’s video features Depths of History. Britain is a scuba diver that uses metal detectors and magnets to hunt for underwater treasure. In one of his recent videos he found a bag of guns and a cash box in a river weighed down by 35 pound dumbbells. Then when the items were turned in, had the weapons pointed at him by the cop. Muzzle awareness people! Please note that he is not a cop watcher or auditor. Just a super interesting channel. Please go check it out and let him know I sent you.

Britain was diving under the Medlock bridge in the Chattahoochee river with some friends when they found a gun called local Law enforcement to have it recovered. The US Park Ranger who arrives on scene has an issue with them diving.

False. Holcomb bridge park is under the Ranger’s jurisdiction. But it is legal for Britain to dive in the waters there.

The National Park Service is compelled by law and policy to preserve sites and objects in their original location and condition.

As for retrieving historic artifacts from the river, we come to a crossroads. As Britain explains, if an artifact is found underwater, it will deteriorate and decompose much quicker underwater than if it is retrieved and displayed in a museum.

On the national parks service’s website, they state that these objects and sites can be enjoyed by protecting and preserving them in the true museum, which is the park itself. In the same article, the author seems to complain about the burden and responsibility of protecting and preserving the artifacts. Whining about the 50-150$ it takes to get an item safely to a museum. All while simultaneously groveling about the people who do care and bring items in for preservation.

This officer’s arguments and the author’s tone deaf complaint on their website is very telling about how unimportant the National Park Services thinks artifacts with historic value are.

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to remove or even relocate any natural or cultural objects when in a park.

  1. Poor young fella!! He doesn't understand, he just wants to enjoy his hobby and his freedoms but the tyrant's half to have the last word, and ruin everything possible to smack him in line, like showing his I'd!! 😮

  2. Another government employee who thinks public property is private property owned by the government and SHE'S the government.

You didn't remove any historical artifacts, but you might, so you're a criminal. Seems legit. Future thought crime.

  3. simple solution, if you find anything of "historical value" delete it from the video and take it with you, preserve it yourself and make it a "family heirloom"

  4. "how DARE you try to be a good person and clean up our rivers, we want those to look like landfills damn it and we work hard to make it that way! what if you remove a historical water bottle or antique shopping cart? you could ruin that for future generations!"

  5. We don't have a clue what's on the bottom of the river, but we are concerned you will find what we don't know exists…. and that's a problem….I can't explain why it's a problem, but it is because… I said so.

  6. Why does no one ask the obvious question: "I reported a bag of guns and money box in the river. Why are you so angry with me? And, there is always a risk of anything could happen. I can't live my life by what could happen." Say thanks and walk away. Tell them "If I break the law, you are welcome to contact me again. But have a nice day, officers."

  7. He´s popular to clean Rivers, deliver possible murder weapons and war about harmfull explosive devices etc.

Here in Germany we´d a smilar case of "disturbing Nature with no licence" by Magnet fishing and clean out waters from trash with a law punishment of nearly 300 $$

  8. It a recreational area and hes recreating so whats the problem? That park ranger is as dense as a river rock. Being a good citizen and cleaning a river bed – how scandalous. Is she saying historical artifacts should be left in the river to be lost forever? Federal land belongs to the public. Period.

  9. Don´t you try to clean up and try to make it beautyful…… Disgusting "Karen"cop should take her badge off. And we don´t know what she does when she´s alone. Maby she beat up kids????? Bully with a badge and nothing else! TY LL, Love your channel. Take care and stay safe <3
