College professors with tenure make 6 figures, so he got two years pay but lost his job, and half his settlement went to his lawyer, so that is not a huge settlement.
The cop was a prick. The professor was a prick. The school administrators were pricks. I'm not sure who to root for here.

I don’t know what the HELL has happened to AMERICAS police forces? It seems like they drive around looking for minor violations and then exculate it till they get a bogus arrest . And then when something happens o like a school shooting they just stand around and listen to little kids getting shoot . The police chief needs to lose his job along with the DA that decided to file charges again. The DA should face some censures from the court system as well for the frivolous charges.
Was not enough!!! If youre gonna sue at least have a clause where they admit their wrong doing or take it to trial so there can be case law for the next person!!!!

I believe that it should have been 1.5 million. Enough to let him retire because after taxes. He really isn't left with anything in that 275,000. The insurance people knew it could get this high or even higher if they let this make it into that court date. With jury people include. I guess we can say the Lawyers for this school aren't that great.
We need charges for false imprisonment. We keep seeing these types of crimes because 99% when they do it the victim doesn't have resources or knowledge on how to fight it and it disappears. They do this because they almost always get away with it. So when we catch them we need to push for legal action and resignations
School administrators would be the lowest form of humanity if not for cops.

Those women at the end with their Karen comments and hovering in a window really displayed their ignorance. They didn’t know what the situation was about and they struck me as a bunch of nosy busy-bodies just spouting nonsense and spreading misinformation. The female officer started everything and then added insult to injury by lying. As a woman myself, it looked as if a bunch of men-hating women got together and created this havoc due to someone’s ego being bruised!! Unfortunately, a man’s life was hurt and for nothing. No crime was committed and they doubled down and further perpetrated the abuse. It’s ludicrous and while I understand why the professor settled, I don’t think it was near enough money nor were these criminals held accountable for their behavior.
I think cops blocking entire roadways during a stop is completely unreasonable. They park like dyheds and then want to escalate confrontations that arise from people not being able to get around them. Most cops egos are out of control.
We need more “andy griffith” and less “judge dredd”.

Its like almost every single police arrest ever…..police get butthurt because someone says something they don’t like, or they get butthurt because someone refuses to do what they say when they don’t have to because police are just people….they have no authority over any person, only in their minds they do…….so they falsely arrest them. They dont care because they have qualified immunity and other protections, but they know even if the case is thrown out, they have caused the person great harm, discomfort, financial ruin, or ruined their life…..and thats what they wanted. Even if they get sued, they still dont really care because they personally dont have to pay, it comes out of the tax cattle.
It should have been in the settlement that all the students that was talking crap be removed from the school
