  1. WHAT a Dream ~ but Real. Quite a Beauty, I Love these Old Places & things – and Speak a wealth of information.
    Insulation – = Hope you're not going to use fiberglass. Rockwool serves more purposes. tho – only 'other' i know : }

  2. Okay, if you actually going to put this place back together but want to keep the windows, check into getting vacuum glass. It is a little thicker but is way more efficient. The other thing you can do is use a thermal camera to find holes in the lath both inside and out. You can't really water proof it as that wood will need to breathe. I have a 100 year old home up on Edgewood that has become my personal suffering. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.

  3. I've gutted several houses before and it's real easy for me to get distracted solving the mysteries that are unveiled. Being in a fort with that kind of history, It would take me days just to remove the chinking from one room…lol

  4. That brace on the ceiling looks like it was to hang something from the ceiling. Maybe a candle or oil chandelier. You gave it away that you had someone else pull the old plaster off when you said "I've never seen that before" lol but hey, kudos to you for putting other men to work. We need you in the legal system as much as possible at this time in history. Thanks John!
