for those wondering how Schmidt wound up with the cell phone.. apparently his father in law had found it while on a walk somewhere near by.. Schmidt later on sends a call out and explains how they've found a lost phone and they would like to meet somewhere public to return it. Either way, when you look at the footage of the burglary, its not hard to see that Schmidt is not the suspect in the burglary footage.
For anybody who wants to learn more about this please Google "Esteban Schmidt Homestead Police Department" or something along those lines. The police are trying so hard not to release ANY footage… The body cams… the radio coms.. the 911 call.. I wonder why.

I read online that this case was because of a phone that was stolen from a car that was in Steven's possession. Steven says his family member found it on the street and wanted to return it to the owner. Does anyone know if he was charged for the supposed burglary?
