The kid had a gun in his hand and said "do you want to go home tonight?" to the cop. That was a wrong thing to do with a cop. That definitely sounded like a threat.
On the flip side though… 8 shots from the officer? Really??? You only need one good shot to disable someone, and it could have been in the arm or leg.
