Maybe 6 months would be fair. He did batter him but no bodily injuries were reported. If you have a clean record and get into a fight more then likely you're not seeing jail time. And even the 6 months I suggested would be because he battered someone while preforming his duties as a police officer when the crime was committed.

What that cop was surprised that the thin blue line wasn't going to completely cover for him. It's getting harder for that blue line to keep protecting these cops who break the law and take away citizens' constitutional rights. This ex-cop (now felon) says "I don't know what happened. I have no clue". Yeah right. Here's a clue. He got in to a job where he didn't have what it demands. That's it. It's an obvious two tier justice system. The average Joe that is convicted of the same crimes goes to prison for a couple of years. Cops, Prosecutors, and judges get probation or the charges are dismissed. And let's not forget politicians. They don't even get charged. They just get rich from insider trading.
