  1. "Officer of the year" isn't a real award, it's just a PR shield. They generally give it to the worst cop in the department, the one they know will make them look bad. If a reporter comes asking questions about excessive force, questionable arrests, bad shootings, sexual misconduct.. they say "He wouldn't do that, he's a hero, he's Officer of the year".

  2. I would agree IF her attorneys fees didn't come out of her settlement. If the city had to cover that amount as well then I'd say it was a good settlement.

  3. We need a federal law that clearly states when law enforcement violates someone's civil rights they automatically loose pensions, are no longer allowed to own firearms, get prison time for mandatory number of years upto life. Anything less is just protecting the government's privilege to abuse people's civil rights for a small monetary fee. We have to stop allowing the government to undermine justice by letting government criminals walk away to continue abusing people in another city or state.
