Failure to stop at a stop sign, cracked windshield are definitely tickets. He just asked if the driver had his contacts in. Good cops will automatically tell you why they stopped you.

Here's a novel idea, stop breaking laws if you don't want to talk to an officer commissioned to enforce the laws. The guy was lucky the officer didn't tow his vehicle for having a broken windshield and refusing to confirm what is noted as required on his drivers license (that he requires contacts to operate a vehicle).
