A cop walks up to the front door of a family’s home. Nobody answers the door, so he just lets himself in and begins to look around. About a minute later, shots ring out from inside the house. He just shot the family dog. The husband was at work. The wife was out of town. The 4 kids were at school. It was just Zelda, the family’s beloved Belgian Malinois, being a good girl, doing her job protecting their home from intruders. Then the cop walks back outside.
Does he call the family to tell them what happened? No. He calls more cops and basically an army of police officers arrive at this home in this quiet neighborhood, and they begin to circle the wagons. They then proceed to go all through the family’s home, garage and backyard, for a period of about 40 minutes – all without even notifying this family, or obtaining their permission to do so. Oh, and also – without a warrant. Surely they made this right with the family? Apologized? Compensated them in some way? Surely they fired the officer and prosecuted him for unlawfully entering the family’s home and killing their dog?

Further, after watching the video, it’s obvious that the front door is closed since you clearly see the storm door opened and ajar (by the ‘officer’) then hear him knocking on it after having opened the storm door (plus you can hear he’s knocking on a solid frame door, not the plexiglass exterior)
The ONLY silver lining in this tragedy is the fact (now that the civil rights lawyer is involved) the family is about to get a massive payday and that pathetic, Barney Fife a-hole is about to get it handed to him big-time

This is so sad on many levels. That cop should not of been in their house first of all. He kills the family dog that was just protecting her home and lies about it. Does not lose his job or get in any trouble for breaking laws that he is supposed to enforce. The whole family is heart broken after the killing of their beloved dog and the police do nothing. Not even we was wrong we are sorry. At the very least they should buy them a new dog. That breed is not cheap which it won't make up for the lost of the dog but it would be better then nothing which is what they did. I am not a sue them kind of person but this family needs to sue and that cop should lose his job. If he lies about that what's to stop him from lying in other cases not trustworthy at all.
