That officer definitely acted in retaliation and got offended when he told him he works for him and hes a public servant. The officer doesn't realize he cannot be the victim so has no grounds to arrest him for disorderly conduct/use of profanity.
Will you verify that charges like disorderly conduct require the general public be bothered by one’s behavior? Meaning, ignoring the fact that he has free speech rights, isn’t it true that an officer cannot be the complainant for this charge? He is protected from government representatives citing him for protected speech violations, right? I understand this was thrown out… was it for this reason? Thanks.
Serves him right for throwing a temper tantrum and acting like a baby. Living in a free country doesn’t mean you have no social responsibility or consequences for your actions.
I find it fascinating that so many americans beat their chest about their freedom of speech….and you can still be arrested for swearing or being impolite?! If I lived in a country like that, I'd never get out of jail, so think about your precious freedom of speech from time to time, and try to make it more free, because it isn't at the moment.
