Two Sheriff’s deputies (Deputies Philpot and Cobb with the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office) responded to a woman lying on the shoulder of a highway. The woman tells the deputies she was fleeing domestic violence. After talking for nearly 18 minutes, the woman, who very clearly appears to be drunk, asks the deputies for a ride away from the pitch black highway. The deputies talk it over and decide they don’t want to. They tell her to just keep walking. The woman pleads with the deputies to taker her to a gas station. But they leave her and tell her to keep walking down the dark road. 13 minutes later, the woman was hit and killed by a tractor trailer. The truck’s dash cam appears to show her purposefully sitting in the middle of the dark road. The State of Missouri is now seeking to discipline both deputies for reckless disregard of a woman who was clearly in need. But according to their lawyer, they did nothing wrong.

  2. They didnt "leave her to die". She wasn't bleeding or Injured. The woman was already walking in the road lane… IN THE ROAD LANE. Sure they didn't protect and serve, but your title is a complete lie. Gotta use the "shock and awe" factor for the views…. Just like Bush for the oil from the Gulff War….

  3. We the people speak and say they the officers where in the wrong and we will hold them accountable with mandatory prison time and no type of early release under any circumstances. We hold tr divers or any one with a CDL license to a higher standard than normal drivers because they are
professional drivers the same should go for law enforcement judges any one in that type of position. If any of them get charged and convicted it should be double the sentence

  4. It’s pitch dark and she’s suppose to stay off the white line and keep walking while carrying her belongings with an arm fracture. My heart aches for this lady and the despair she must of felt.

  5. The NFL has a policy to take players out of the game if a concussion is possible. These cops have a policy of having a citizen with possible brain injury walk down the highway at night. Can't wait for the deposition when the cop has to explain what his car was full of.

  6. Look. Just tell her you don't want to take her anywhere. Don't use some BS excuse that you don't have enough room for her stuff, you sorry excuse for a human being.

  7. This is so sad. My heart breaks watching this. I can’t even imagine how these cops sleep at night, knowing that they could have simply given her a ride. In fact, I may be mistaken but, I thought I’ve read signs on freeways stating – no pedestrians allowed. Protect and serve – my ass 🫏 .

  8. This is really a sad thing,.. what happened to this poor lady. I mean this Cop could've done more for her. I mean,.. at least give her a ride to the next store or,, even take to a to a shelter. Or something instead of living her out there on her lonesome. He really didn't wanna help her. This guy is just a complete ass!

  9. How can a human being let alone a protecter of citizens a vonerable lady dealing with domestic violence she found it so bad she grabed what she could and fled . He told her to stay off the line and keep walking and laughed at her and told her she was welcome. At first I though how in the world could he sleep and then I realised he enjoyed it .This is probably the worst video of police interaction with citizens I've ever seen.I truly hope there is some form of outcry from the citizens these are exceptionally dangerous people. The lady was begging to just get out of harm's way a few miles. 😢

  10. I can't comment, because my mother and father taught me not to use that language. But my dog does it several times a day, and I take a poop bag to pick it up. They be lower than whale —-.

  11. What a horrible, horrible, horrible excuse for a human being…who has sworn a oath to serve and PROTECT. I can't believe that there are people on the government's payroll who are so depraved.
