DUI checkpoints do not yield enough DUI arrests to justify them . The police would do better keeping drunk drivers off the streets by simply patrolling the streets instead of allocating resources at one or two locations only. DUI checkpoints are completely unconstitutional, we can blame MADD for them still being in place. MADD "believes" that checkpoints work even though statics prove that they do not work , most all DUIs are caught during officers patrolling the streets looking for drunk drivers instead of them waiting for drunk drivers to come to their checkpoints.
Abolish checkpoints now.

Chili, I had a recent discussion online with a retired cop who was trying to impress upon me how valuable his service was to his community, and when I didn't automatically "thank" him for "his service" he did JUST what this cop did, he became dismissive and immediately gave up trying to foster a good relationship with a member of the public. It never occurs to these people that the entire SYSTEM is the issue, not just a few bad cops, not just a few bad judges, etc.

DUI checkpoints are unconstitutional. People have been convinced they are legal. I do like how the officer interacted at the end and at least tried to show understanding. I believe he genuinely believes he is doing a fair job. They always run away though when we try to go too deep into the conversation where they’re starting to understand your point of view but not wanting to believe it. 😂
