Driver Honks at Cop Car Idling at Green Light, Gets Arrested 5 Minutes Later

Matthew Edwards, a hard working welder, had just worked a 14 hour shift and was waiting to turn into his neighborhood in Troy, New York. A marked police car was waiting at a red light in front of him at the intersection where he was waiting to make a left turn onto the street where he lives. But when the light turned green, the police car didn’t move. After waiting a few moments, Matthew briefly honked his horn to alert the distracted police officer that the light had turned green. Within 5 minutes, Matthew would be violently arrested by that officer, Taylor Gamache with the Troy Police Department.

  1. He should lose his job because if the cop does something this petty because he was beeped at, imagine what else he's capable of. That poor man & kudos for the lady that defended the man

  2. Cop claiming he is also a hard working man, more like a gangster. All cuz he got butt hurt over being distracted at a green light and being woke up with a toot of a horn. These cops need some time behind bars, time to dwell on how they effed up.

  4. I've noticed that the leo's are trained to cooks the report since they know most likely the judge magistrates most likely won't watch the video and pass judgment strictly off of the cooked report, huh! How sickening indeed!

  5. “That few outside the profession can comprehend”! We outside the profession have seen in hundreds of citizen videos just like this, that two types become cops! Psychopaths that need the shield’s protection or lesser men/women that need the shields protection! Why do you think they refer to it as a shield, nothing honorable in the law enforcement profession, and never has been!

  6. You should do a video of the Judge who did the exact same thing and jump out of his car and tells the officer you better run the vin no. On this car soon Mr. Have a good day, Judge!! You Bet!!

  7. Cop could have been receiving a dispatch and you're blowing your horn like a defiant child so you can brag about it to your friends later. Yes he should have sat there and waited. And having worked far worse jobs than a Fing welder, I have ZERO sympathy for him being in a hurry to get home. Sit down and shut up.

  8. Contempt of cop, and I am being serious, can cost us our lives. Hey, I’ve honked at SAPD when they were being stupid. I got a “my bad”, but those are city cops who mostly come from the neighborhoods we live in and even that could take a turn for the worst in a heartbeat. My point is to tread carefully. We really can lose a lot and they have so much power behind them most times. It’s a toss up rather or not a DA or judge or even a jury will step up and hold them accountable. Yall stay safe.
