Took me less than 5 minutes to find out Lyoya’s autopsy revealed he was 3 times the legal limit, and had a previous DUI. If the cop had done what you suggested, someone might’ve been injured or killed. I’m not saying the man deserved to be shot, in fact I think it wasn’t necessary at all. Wrong plate could of been the DMV or whoever issues the plates. That could be why he was so confused. It happened to me on motorcycle plates giving wrong ones from dept of motor vehicles found year later on my renewal

I haven’t heard anything actually confirming that you be plates were bad. Cops routinely do what’s called “dumb thumbing” where they intentionally enter a plate wrong to create cause for a traffic stop.
