A 63 year old diabetic who was apparently suffering a low blood sugar episode, being confused, went into a gas station and believing himself to be the owner of the store, grabbed beer and milk, then went outside and began to drink them. The actual store owner called police, seeking help for the man, who he believed was suffering a mental emergency. But when the police arrived, they immediately went hands-on, trying to grab the man’s beer, and then body slammed this elderly diabetic man onto the concrete ground, while taunting him.
After realizing the man is diabetic, they called paramedics and their supervisor. The paramedics said the man needed to go immediately to the hospital, but the cops said no. So the paramedics left without the elderly man who was suffering an apparent medical emergency. Then when the supervisor got there, the cops said nothing about the medical emergency, and then lied about the man throwing his beer on him, which is easily disproven by the video footage. So instead of medical help, this man got violence instead, and then a bunch of criminal charges. Now, in just a few days, the man is facing a trial, for which he may be looking at years in prison.

What do you think? Was there an intentional beer battery, or just spillage cost by the cops?
That guy drinking alcohol with unmanaged diabetes is probably not going to be mentally competent to stand trial and will probably not be alive in 10 years based on how quickly people decline under those conditions. I wish there was another way cops could be screened and trained and held accountable. The current system needs to evolve.
Just another day in America.
Why is he confused? Because he is 63? Or because he is diabetic?
Just another day in America.
He is making a reference to the “mark” of the beast…
Just get people some help. What's so hard about that?
Both cops are ignorant, and they need to go to jail.
The only felony battery I could see was done by an unprofessional psycho cop.
What the fuk is wrong with those police? The public must be terrified at seeing them.
It's Florida. They'll drop a sure thing to go after a felony conviction.
They better drop the charges
Bodycams should have immediate access to view the arrests for the supervisors or anyone to view….. instead of months or years later when they feel like it…..
Got the Goddamn arm sleeve tattoos always the fuckers
I mostly like cops. but those two cops were garbage
Death penalty.
Another example of piss poor policing. Its obvious the guy needed help…Female cop is worthless, male cop should be in jail. Ridiculous.
Another steroid cop.
What a cowardly pos cop
This pisses me off. My dad is diabetic and when his sugar gets way too low he has no recollection what he said or did sometimes gets angry.
FTP
The only thing that was thrown was the poor guy..
This is what PIGS do! They lie, they abuse, they lie about their abuse, then they will lie again
So the old guy steals, tells the female officer if she touches “his” (stolen) beer she’s going to have a mark on her, pulls away, is rambling about people dying and not wanting to live, assaults the female officer, resists arrest, is argumentative and he’s the victim? Please.
He’s scum and a recidivist criminal. Boo hoo he’s a diabetic and can’t be bothered to manage his condition properly. No sympathy.
"What a pair we are."
Florida is dirty just look at the corrupt govna the dirty attorney General that is running the doj to protect the convicted felon president not the American people and taxpayers
I am a type 2 diabetic and I can certainly say that having extremely low blood sugar affects your mind.
While camping last year, I woke up in the morning and I literally felt drunk…. Stumbling and the inability to dress myself.
After about 15 minutes of trying to get dressed, I walked out into the kitchen area in the camper and I remember fumbling with the coffee maker..
My wife came in at that moment and asked me what I was doing and I said that I was trying to make coffee but I couldn't find the filters… I guess I was slurring my speech because she immediately recognized that I was having some sort of diabetic emergency… She had me test my blood sugar and it was 19….. She sat me down at the dining table and went to the refrigerator to get a mountain dew….. I also remember that I was shaking like a leaf in a small wind… I could barely stand….
She made me drink that whole can of mountain dew and about 15 minutes later I felt completely normal…. We checked my blood sugar after 45 minutes and it was only up to about 80.
She then had me eat breakfast of frosted mini-wheats and coffee with sugar…. About an hour later I was feeling okay with a reading of like 119 for blood sugar.
There are also days where my pancreas just decides not to put out any insulin and my blood sugar comes back at like 330…. I then have to limit my intake of sugar and carbohydrates for a day or two to bring my sugar levels down.
All that being said, these officers need to learn to recognize a diabetic emergency instead of going full commando on innocent citizens… But you know what? They won't.
Cops are only on the street for one reason, arrest people and generate revenue for the state with writing tickets…. If you actually think police officers are out there to protect and serve, you have another think coming… 99% of them are violent individuals who will take you down at the slightest hint of insurrection from you… They don't give a fuck about your constitutional rights, they don't give a fuck about your feelings… Their only job is to generate revenue for the state in any way possible… If that means violating your constitutional rights, so be it!
If a cop is reading this right now, I invite your rebuttal. Defend yourself…. Unless of course if you're rebuttal gets back to your department and you are laughed at for defending citizens rights… There should be some sort of oath that you have to take to become an officer to ensure that you don't violate citizens' rights…. oh that's right, You do take an oath, but I guess it means absolutely nothing to you criminal fuckers… Cops are the worst fucking people on this planet.
My uncle was a cop and at my cousin's wedding He was happy and bragging at the fact that when he was a sergeant years ago in a grade school he got to take down an 8-year-old and put him in handcuffs for swearing at him… If I had any respect for him before this, it had evaporated after he told me this.
You fucking cops Don't give a shit about anyone except yourself…. You treat citizens with the utmost disrespect…. You fuckers don't care about citizens constitutional rights…. If someone flips you off 🖕 You come completely unglued and arrest that person for disorderly conduct even though that giving the middle finger to a cop is nothing more than a redress of your government and is protected under the first amendment… But you don't give a fuck! You just want to beat someone up for some perceived disrespect of your badge.
Fuck you and the high horse that you rode in on.
Cops are fucking assholes!
Officers were in control of the man's arms when the beer was spilled, therefore it would be impossible to conclude the man intentionally spilled the beer onto the officers, and of course the video shows he certainty did not THROW the beer at anyone.
I only hope that ignoring his medical episode and condition during his lengthy stay in jail did not contribute to any lasting or worsening medical issues. It is quite disturbing that the opinion of an officer can countermand a medical professional's assessment that a patient needs to be transported to hospital for medical care.
