Today’s Story is out of Montville Connecticut and begins as Colin Poitras was driving his cousin to a doctor’s appointment.
DashCam video from officer Mathew Shepard’s cruiser begins as he observes Colin’s vehicle traveling 42 in a 25.
Officer Shepard conducts an illegal u-turn and chases after Colin, reaching speeds well above the limit without emergency lights or sirens.
The officer follows Colin onto highway 32, and finally turns on his lights and sirens. 50 seconds after observing the offense. 20 seconds of which were spent at a red light, directly behind Colin.
They immediately hit a red light, and Officer Shepard turns off his siren, just 3 seconds after activating them. He does however, keep his emergency lights on.
Another unit asks if he needs backup over the radio. And just 6 seconds after lighting Colin up, he responds with “Maybe, this guy seems like he could just keep on driving.”
Colin’s GPS indicated a left turn to continue his route, so he decided to try and turn left and pull to the side. There has been no attempt to flee or other reason to get upset other than speeding,
But Colin’s inability to know exactly where, how high and how fast the officer wants him to jump enrages the officer.
Once the light turns green, and only 12 seconds after the initial light up, the officer signals with his horn, and Colin pulls over to the right.
Remember to Always film your interactions with Law enforcement. The state was responsible for filming Jeffery Epstein’s cell, but look where that got us. Get a dashcam. My recommendations are in the description.
olin went on to file a formal complaint against the officer, and as expected, the officer’s superiors considered the handling of this traffic stop as handled appropriately and professionally.
And sure, there was nothing more than hurt feelings, and the tickets were both randomly dropped.
Whatever it was, my only reminder to you is to stop talking to police. Although Colin’s tickets weren’t prosecuted, refraining from dialogue with the officer could have prevented the issuance of the failure to notice citation.

The driver is an idiot. The stop was over, yet he wants to argue with a tyrant.
If this doesn’t sound like piracy, I don’t know what size do you speak of are stealing money for no reason and I just can’t understand why let’s tack on everything we can so I can get a salary. It sounds like criminal conspiracy to me.
This cop is such an asshole. Even if the driver made a "mistake" by not pulling over to the right. It's not the crime of the century. He's treating him like a hardened criminal because he was a little confused about where he wanted him to pull over. How many times did this stupid cop berate the driver for not pulling over to the right? Over and Over again for a small error on the part of the driver. (And I don't even think it was an "error." The driver said he was just trying to clear the intersection.)

Here's my question….why didn't the cop wait for him to complete the turn and then put his lights on? That's what most cops do and it's a helluva lot safer. If the guy had completed the left hand turn would that have put the cop out of his jurisdiction?

I've learned at least 3 things from your videos. The less you tell any officer you did not call for yourself the better. The cops are not your friends and most think they rule you and they would just lock you up if able. Record all interactions with the police.

The driver was parked when the officer walked up. The officer never observed the driver using the cell phone while OPERATING the vehicle. They'll try anything, even when there is zero logic!!
