My nephew was a cop for over 20 years. One night he was called to a home on a domestic violence incident. When he got to a mansion, he found the wife severely beaten. He immediately arrested the husband. Turned out this guy was not only rich, but politically connected. He got his wife to recant and refuse to testify. The charges were dropped. But this wasn't enough for the rich guy, he wanted a public apology from my nephew. The DA, the police union, and refused to back him because they knew this guy could file a civil lawsuit and drag them through hell. (I'm a retired attorney myself). My nephew took early retirement rather than apologize.
I felt badly his career ended this way, but then again one Thanksgiving he told all the family that he almost only gave out traffic tickets (state trooper), had never been involved in a serious incident like murder or even a robbery; and that his determination of whether you got a ticket or not depended on how much respect you showed him.
Now it puts the first story a bit into perspective.
His body language towards her, stalking her as she was walking, constantly asking her questions, grabbing her arm, his condescending comments, handcuffing her and bringing her to a hospital against her will and fact he straight up took something out of her back pocket finally triggered her and she spit on him. His response was a straight up punch to her face. Real tough guy punching a handcuffed woman who can't even defend herself… Sadly the jury bought his BS so no conviction on him but this should be an open and shut excessive force lawsuit.
I can´t believe it! Is it only because our LE and laws are so different over here in Austria (Europe)?
How can the public allow such jury finding? They should exchange this collaborateurs of this criminal and "hire" trustworthy and neutral people!
Does the fact that millions of people have viewed this, create a responsibility on the next department that hires this violent criminal that they should have known about his behavior? How publically widespread does this need to be for the next douche to hire him to be found responsible for "You should have known this. Any reasonable person in your position should have looked into his background. You are responsible for negligent hiring."

When you asked at the beginning I could have told you. To be honest I am surprised it even went to court. The juries have to start thinking what if she was my mom,daughter, niece, aunt or just someone close to you that you care about. This is what the prosecution should be saying. After the punch keep the picture of her bloody face on the screen. Forcibly Iterate she did nothing wrong to be stopped and taken by force. That is almost the worst part. People think we have come a long way, but from what I see we are even worse as even with audio and video kops literally get away with murder.

At U.S. it is for police in court room a popularity contest. At other G7 nations only facts are most important, which would lead to a sentence.
I don’t have enough information to give a opinion. Would need to see the discovery to find out if those cops had probable cause to approach her to begin with.
Jesus Christ Monkey Balls, the Loveland Police Dept has been in the TV spotlight with so many cases over the last several years. There was the elderly lady who took something from a Walmart and was thrown to the ground and ended up with broken bones who ended up suing the Loveland police dept and ended up with a huge settlement. There was a man who was pulled over by Loveland PD, who didn’t have anything to drink and was arrested. He blew a 0.00 and they took blood from him convinced he had drugs. The tox screen showed zero drugs in his system. They literally can’t go a month without tripping over their own di*ks.
Take away their uniforms and replay this situation again… Criminals abduct and abuse a woman. We all should be proud of her how she was trying to defend her… This is tragic and disgusting.
The jurors in this case had an opportunity to hold someone in a trusted position who violated his oath accountable and they refused to do it. Going forward I hope those people do not find themselves in a similar situation as Angelia.
