Invoke your 4th, 6th and 5rh amendment rights, then shutdown. The cop violates your right if they ask you any questions without your attorney present. Simple. Prolonged stop with his continuous repetitiin??
Should only have to say it once. the next time I would be " What part of I DONT ANSWER QUESTIONS is too hard for you to understand? It is 4 words. If you cant understand 4 words then you are obviously to stupid to understand laws and should hand your badge and gun back to the city"
Germantown is full of power hungry cops who like violating rights.
That man is lucky the cop didn't order him to get out of his car. If he did and the man asked why or refused, the cop would have dragged him out, punched, kicked, throttled, and potentially left him for dead due to being butt hurt

My experience with traffic stops. Car off, interior lights on if dark, hands on the wheel and wait. Be pleasant, only retrieve items when requested. deny knowledge of speed or wrong doing, chat up the cop a little, they are just working. I find I mostly get a warning. Once I started this method I haven't received a ticket. I haven't been asked but if I was I would always deny a search.
In a decent, democratic country like mine, it's not that you don't talk to the police, it's that the police can't talk without a lawyer present, it's mandatory and everything you say without a lawyer is not legal
And you can also choose to testify directly before the police or the judge
A driver gives an officer his license with name, address and assigned license number, registration with name and address and assigned registration number and insurance with name, address, VIN and policy number and the officer ask is the address correct, no one has time for stupid questions.

The end result was still a ticket for apparently what you did wrong.

I mean, on the one hand, yeah. On the other hand, it's a little hard to see how repeating the mantra of "I don't answer questions" helped him in this case. He still got the citation, which is basically the worst-case scenario in this kind of stop. Maybe he could beat it in court, but I imagine the cop had speed-based evidence already.
Based on this cop's demeanor I think it's unlikely he would've let the guy off with a warning if he had taken a little less of an adversarial attitude, but there's a non-zero probability. There's also the possibility of an asshole cop escalating the situation (which this one seems to have a little by calling for backup, which prolonged the stop at the very least). I think you have to pick your battles. By all means don't say anything incriminating, but you can say more than just those four words over and over again. At least throw in a "good morning" or something to make the cop see you as a person and not just as a stone wall.
Hint: it's not a vin NUMBER ..it's simply a vin. Vehicle identification number…not numder number…( pet peeve)

Speeding within a few miles per hour over the limit are simple money making endeavors for the enforcers .

"I don't wish to discuss my day" may be a little less confrontational than, "I don't answer questions." If questioning persists, "Officer, I am invoking my right to remain silent."

Eh, it all depends. I've gotten a few warnings and/or written for less speed by being friendly. You can stop answering questions at any time.
Cop did nothing wrong so whats the issue here? Simple fix "DO NOT SPEED"
