When the cop found out that the guy was a real estate photographer, it should have been over. He didn't have to prove anything, submit anything or aid in a useless investigation. All the whining about, "In today day and age", you'd think that gates are getting assaulted on a daily basis. If these idiots actually thought about, they would realize that taking photos of a gate for infiltration efforts, is not even a viable option. To amass a force necessary to storm a gate, you will see it coming a mile away. All the while, anyone can get detailed images from numerous satellite photo sites, which is what the initial aerial assault unit will use for free. It's all mindless justification of enforcing an imaginary law on a non-existent threat.
“Oh you’re military police? Cool I’m a civilian and I’m not on base so your authority is nonexistent. Buh bye”

Marine of 10 years. I personally have filmed and photographed at Henderson Hall, and this gate in particular. Almost every service Member, if not all service members have fil and/or photos of their bases they served on or visited, as well as gates they have passed thru. This street in particular near this gate is familiar to me as i had Marine married friends that lived on the gate side (opposite side from this video) of this video 4 buildings down from the gate. Marlon, thank you for your service and for standing up for the rights you took an oath to protect.

Cops are bored, so they decide to go fishing. They extend contact hoping to escalate the situation and maybe find grounds for an arrest. I bet there were actual crimes occurring within their patrol area, as they continued to harass this innocent citizen. As soon as the subject cleared up the incident, the cops should have left.

I don't get why anyone gives a shit about taking pictures of a military base anyway. If they wanted to do something, just walking by and looking at it would yield the same exact information. Or videoing it with a hidden camera. Or looking on google. Or using a long distance lens. Any number of things. So what the fuck is with the massive response to someone photographing it?
