Good advice for people operating vehicles. Get to get yourself a dashcam & always lock your doors.
Please always lock your doors and have a safe exit or two just in case it’s not the cops – though you’re more likely to end up in gaol/hospital/morgue if it’s the cops at 0300hrs. The young man’s name for the “*** p1gs” is quite telling and at that age I’m surprised he’s already so cynical and untrusting of the cops.

I've never, never seen a cop in Salt Lake that totally paranoid!
Of all places, it's hard to believe they would raise their high standards to that low of a level.
I would expect that out of a larger city than Salt Lake.
Most cops there believe in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
Cops need to stop everyone outside because they could be about to commit a crime. Disregard individual freedom.
Put a badge on a person and watch them change into tyrants.
You can go film cops in public if you want to while on the performance of their duties. That is total BS. that threat is empty. If they did anything about it you have a lawsuit. Don’t go to small town lawyers. They are afraid to sue cope. Big city law firms or well established lawyers will take it on contingency. They will send a demand letter explaining he has a slam dunk case and you will get an offer. If you want to settle. Depending and how badly the pigs behaved you may not want to. So feel free to go to any police calls and film —-and park in public parking – or better yet – be dropped off or Uber. Otherwise they will get your tags and harass you.

Stop talking to the police. Do not answer questions. To many people that know their rights still give to much information and talk to the police even after they assert I do not answer questions. The only thing to say to police is, "I do not answer questions."

I understand I don’t have to show ID, and as much as I would LOVE to tell police officers to kick rocks if they ask without probable cause or reasonable suspicion, I’d rather go home alive and not in a box. It seems cops these days are just out of control and will shoot first, ask questions later, if at all. This channel has brought a lot of corruption to light which we all knew existed, but here’s proof for the world to see. The thing is, they don’t care that they are being recorded. They will frame you or cover up their mistakes and in court, it’s our word against theirs. Who do you think the judge will believe? Even with video evidence, I’ve watched 2 cases today that had video proof of no crime, yet the first judge found them guilty. On appeal, sure, the conviction was overturned, but who has that kind of money to fight it? Not the average American. Definitely not me, that’s for sure. So if I comply and they don’t like me, they’ll make up some charges and I’d end up serving time for something I didn’t even do. That’s scary. So it’s either comply and STILL be shot and killed by the police, like Daniel Shaver in Mesa, AZ was, or it’s not comply and be shot and killed by police. Great choices there. I wonder which one is less painful.

Not sure what he means it's a public parking lot. Even in parking lots, open to the public, you don't not have unfettered access to it 24/7. I don't know where this parking lot was, but he could easily have been trespassed from it, but yes, no id was needed.
He’s young and the cop assumed he didn’t know anything about his rights so he attempted to take advantage of him. Good on the kids for staying strong. I would have obtained a name and badge to file a complaint though. But overall very good.
