As a 32-year police officer I don't ask people if they have weapons in the car on a general basis I just assumed everybody does
It's not about officer safety it's about everybody's safety I'm no more entitled to go home safely at the end of the shift than anyone else is that I may have an encounter with they have the same rights to be safe as I do but you know what freedom is scary deal with it

I have metal health issues last time I got pulled over by cop while having mental breakdown grab a knife told kill me an they pulled up with 25 cops pointing shotguns. Don't forget this all happened because my mother died then my uncle then grandfather an one one wanted to talk so I wanted cops to kill me only because no one cared at that time. So they locked me up hospital for suicide an after it all they let me out moved me out my foster home in to another because no one wants to deal with issues so I drink a lot more alone in the forst
