This video is a realty for those folks involved- from the cop, the young dude, and the driver- the ripple effect and how it altered the lives that continued beyond that road- including the people that will miss that boy forever now, and a future denied whatever contribution he would have imposed had he lived.
Those sent to protect us, our lives,- not to take our lives from us to protect their own. This situation escalated with such speed that the critical thinking and skill of a badge is trusted to navigate. We all know this was not the norm, and the average Joe would not consider this situation could occur. This officer, trained for worse incidents, even he could jotnhave predicted this exactly. He has been trained however, on tactical skills and is equipped to act on them and employ accordingly, in the assessment of the situation critical thinking skills expedited.
We are in a society of fear. On both sides of the wall of the otherside. In the midst of the moment, " whatcha gonna do," is the common grounds. The actions taken show the reaction is fatal and the control to react ultimately is in each other hands. Faulty is in the one with the experience and in this scenario, that's only the officer. The same badge, fails to critically apply ANY measure of skill or knowledge or even awareness – he wasn't taken his duty seriously and is a horrid example of the service he is employed to ACTUALLY and legally obligated to do.
The cop is not a murderer He didn't track down the driver, didn't conduct himself in a way or intent harm or kill was an imminent fear for the driver, and did not entice nor did the environment present ANY reason for the flight or for any thought or fear to have the driver running.
The driver DID make a choice to have concluded fleeing as his best option at that moment. Though he didn't foresee a vehicle hitting him as the bigger risk, by the driver behaving in the adverse way, knowing that conduct reasonably could result in harm to his oerson, he took the position he did and- He contributed to his own death. The car that hit him actually imposed the injury- same thing there-; The cop and the car are consequences of the driver.
I do hold that the officer failed miserably in his duty in enforcement and in service. He owed that duty to the driver, to the traveller, and to the people that are survivors to the deceased. I believe the misconduct is grossly severe, not even a reasonable minded common citizen who perform or perceived what the officer does justifiable. If that's not a sure sign to make a career change, I don't know what is.
I hope he voluntarily was acxountable- it at least leaves the potential and hope this guy lived in to ensure never happens again

Well, the body cam footage is publicly available…ive seen it, and that dumb ass kid escalated that event, drove off, wrecked his car, then ran onto a highway at night and was struck by a car. All over a possible dui which is a traffic offense.

What doesn’t the cop know that when he tasers him it will completely stop him from being able to do anything if the truck wasn’t coming they would have beat him up telling him to stop resisting when he couldn’t and wasn’t the cop saw the truck coming and got out of the way in plenty of time I’m not sure how the guns work but I’m guessing you have to hold the trigger down to continue teasing it sounds like he never let go of the trigger to give the kid a chance to even try to get out of the way I think it’s to bad the truck didn’t swerve to miss the kid in the street they had no idea what was going on that’s what I probably would’ve done. Im not saying I would have swerved at the cop on purpose i probably would’ve just been instinctively not trying to hit somebody laying in the road
